I'm both and either feels very good right now.

What's worse?

Twins made the playoffs, Gophers will win a game.
I'm good with the Twins.

Tomorrow is the type of day where I will likely grab the Sunday newspaper from the mailbox and just drop it in the recycling bin without even opening it.

Go Gophers!!

The Twins are a sports psychologist away from winning a series against the Yankees. The Gophers need to join the NSIC to have a chance, albeit a small one, to win a conference championship.

Twins are a great baseball organization that wins its division and puts a quality product
on the field. Easy answer.

In postseason futility terms the Twins might be worse. 12 straight playoff losses (13 is the all-time record).

Either way both teams rip my heart out every damn year.

The Twins at least win their division and then choke. The Gophers can't even beat D-II schools.

Twins by a mile. Yes, it really really sucks to lose playoff series every fall, but by the time spring rolls around, the excitement for another season will be back. For the Gophers to be equivalent to the Twins, they would have to play in either a BCS or top bowl games every year and then always lose those games. The Gophers are the Pittsburgh Pirates of college football.

It's disappointing being a Twins fan because you're expecting more from them.

I would love to feel 'worse' about a long losing streak of New Years Day Bowls. Which to me is the realistic equivalent of six post-season appearances.

Twins are fortunate to play in the medicore AL Central. If they were in the AL East, they would barely be a .500 team year in and year out.

Swap divisions for Toronto and the Twins the past 10 years and Toronto likely has much more success. The Twins have gone as far as they're going to go with Gardy and his band of clowns for a coaching staff. There's no accountability and the entire organization is inbred and brought up with the understanding that we're a small market club and trying hard and "battling our tails off" is good enough. If you speak up and call anyone out you're shown the door ala Al Newman.

100 percent correct. You have been promoted to architect.

Don't ge me wrong, the Twins are good ballclub, but they're not an elite MLB team that many in the TC area think they are.

Everyone thinks Gardy deserves the Mananger of the Year Award (should be Ron Washington) yet Gardy goes out and gets tossed in a crucial playoff game at a crucial point. Standing up for your pitcher is one thing but evaeryone knows you can't argue balls and strikes and he showed his a$$ at a terrible time and basically waived a white flag at that point. That's not the guy I want managing my team.

Gophers fan is tougher.

I've never been openly laughed at for being a Twins fan (since 1999).
I've never been embarrassed to be a Twins fan ever.

Can't say that for our beloved gridiron rodents.

I'm glad it's not your team.

Last night when they showed Gardy he looked really old and like he knew it was over. An average team like the twins should make the playoffs every year when they play in a division where you play KC and Cleveland 38 times. The twins also get pretty much a free pass from the local media. What will happen next year when they have to pay Mr. July $24 million and want to keep the payroll at $100 million?

I don't understand why people are embarrassed, it's not like you personally have anything to do with the team's performance. You like what you like, who cares what other people think. 99% of the world hates Caddyshack II. I love it and I'm not afraid to admit it. It's not 1/10th as good as the first one, but it still makes me laugh.

As far as the Twins are concerned, the biggest kick in the teeth has to be that they got whipped by the Yankees again and it wasn't really any of the upper echelon that did them in. While Granderson, Thames and Fat Elvis Berkman are good players, they aren't the cream of the crop. The Twins had no answer. The team lacks leadership. Gardy's a good guy, but that only goes so far. There's nobody on the roster that is willing to step up and say "follow me and let's take these guys down".

People will laugh at you if you let them. There's some good-natured ribbing from your friends, that's one thing. Then there are people who are just looking for excuses to be jerks. If they see that you are going to give them the response that they want, they will continue to be jerks. I admire people who are willing to wear their team's colors when their team is doing poorly. I don't respect those who change teams to whomever is currently on top.

I like Caddyshack II. Randy Quaid is actually quite good in that movie. And you gotta love any movie with Robert Stack in it.
