I realize 99% of us always want wiscnsin to lose, but I'm curious who people think it is better for Minnesota to win that game?

I want Wisconsin to win. I want Nebraska to feel like their title hopes are flushed down the toilet when we roll into Lincoln.

Does not matter. Nebraska maybe being that they will need a huge emotional effort to do so. We need to beat both of them to go to indy.

The Gophers aren't getting into the playoff, so it doesn't really matter. I suppose it would be more fun to knock off 6-2 Iowa, 8-1 #8-OSU, then 9-1 Nebraska, which could be top 10 if they win. Plus, Wisconsin losing opens up a spot in the top 25 for us next week.

We won't make the playoff, and its pretty symmetrical in terms of the conference title. If we lose to OSU, it becomes totally irrelevant, because we need to beat both. If we beat OSU, then I guess we want whoever is more likely to lose against Iowa to lose, because then we could lose to that team and still go to Indy. Either way, since it is near equal in terms of impact on us, I'd like to see Wisconsin lose. Them going to the conference championship is a nauseating thought.

I voted doesn't matter (for us winning the West). I can't predict the future but my guess is we lose to OSU and our only chance is beating them both - which is far more likely than us beating OSU then hoping for some weird situation.

BUT, for the program, overall, I think Nebraska beating Wisconsin is better for us. Whether or not we win vs OSU, the game in Lincoln will still be a very important West division game. If NE wins vs Wisconsin, they can basically seal the division by beating us. That makes the game very appealing to the Gameday folks. It would be huge for us to be featured in that situation, even on the road, and even bigger for us to 1) crush NE's CFB playoff hopes on the road, 2) more or less crush their west div lead by beating them H2H. We'd get a lot of screen time and a 9-1 Huskers team would be a much more signature win for Kill than last year at home. Wisconsin has already lost to LSU and a pretty bad Northwestern team, I'd rather their season be lost when we play them than for them to be playing for the west title.

Screw the Cornholers. Go Wisconsin! It's the one day a year I root for the Badgers. I hope the real big red wins!

Let's just win out and let the chips fall where they may.

I'm rooting for the meteor.

I think it is better for us that Nebraska wins. One, we beat them last year and we didn't beat Wisconsin. Two, playing Nebraska in Lincoln with them coming off a loss would be an even tougher task. I'd rather they win and think beating us assures them the title.

Huskers over Bucky clearly best scenario

And not because of the rivalry. ...

Nov. 15
(1) Beat Ohio State.
(2) Nebraska beats Wisconsin.

Nov. 22
(1) Beat Nebraska.
(2) Iowa beats Wisconsin

These 4 things happen and the Gophers will have the West's title game spot clinched BEFORE they go to Madison. Wouldn't that be cool.

#1 on Nov. 15 clearly the most difficult part of this equation.

I'm rooting for the meteor.

Wisconsin has a division loss, Nebraska does not. So from that perspective it's probably better for Wisconsin to win in the unlikely event of a three-team tie.

Would love to see Wisky lose, but I don't see how Nebby beats them at Camp Randall.

I'm kind of the opposite. I know Wisconsin's playing better, but I can't see them as a 6-point favorite. I like the Huskers outright.

We compete in recruiting and bragging rights more vs. wisky than we do against Nebraska.

Think of how much it helps us if today is the beginning of a tailspin in madison... long term. Three losses for bucky starting today is not probable, but how much confidence would bagder fans lose in the new regime if they started losing critical games at the beginnings and ends of seasons. That kind of doubt and negativity trickles down to ticket sales, recruiting, enthusiasm at games, etc.

When one rival starts to tail off, it directly leads to more positive outcomes for us. Look at what happened at to MSU and OSU when michigan started to struggle. OSU even survived a scandal and sanctions and the loss of their own coach; because Michigan didn't pose a threat, nobody lost confidence in Columbus.

Screw wisconsin. Always and forever.

Better for the gophers if Wisconsin wins. This year the gophers match up better defensively with conventional teams than spread teams. That has seemed to be the case at least.

No chance Wisconsin doesn't show up to play a rivalry game. Going to be a dogfight regardless.
If Nebraska loses, hopefully they don't show up next week.

From what I've seen today, I think Wisconsin is a better team right now. I'd rather NE finds a way to steal one in Madison.

I don't know....Nebraska's passing game looks like a mess and Abdullah isn't 100%. Gordon is a much bigger threat at this point. It's a tough call, but I think Nebraska is more beatable just basing it off of today's game.

Yeah, plus the downside of Wisconsin winning is they likely win the division.

Another note on this game...Bo Pelini is a spaz. He's flipping out on players, coaches, and the refs. If the guy in charge is acting like that the rest of the team probably will too. Just seems like it'd be a lot of stress playing or working for him.

+1 Easy guy to root against.
