Seeing as how a lot of people have picked favorites already, it's safe to assume that the U won't hire the guy you want. In late November/early December, when Joel steps onto the podium and introduces "Coach (guy I didn't want)", how will you react?

If the new coach can start right away in early December, I'll be elated no matter who it is. If we have to wait until after the bowl season is over, it's going to depend on who the coach is. If it's a home run coach that is worth waiting for, then I'll feel great about it. If it's a lessor known coach, then I'll be more skeptical and think we might be wasting another recruiting class.

I WILL WRITE ABOUT IT IN ALL CAPS!!!!!!

As long as whoever they hire has great credentials, I'll be OK with it. Afterall, I don't know who is and isn't a real candidate. I will say, however that if they don't hire Leach, whoever they do hire must have at least as good of credentials because he is obviously interested. Regardless, I'll always support the program.

One way or another, I'm keeping my season tickets. With NDSU, Wiscy, Iowa and Nebraska on the schedule, there's some money to be made selling to the other team.

Its the name on the front of the jersey that matters.

I have only one hope and that is to see some good Gopher football. I dont care what players get us to that level, I dont care what coach gets us to that level, because its the name on the front of the jersey that matters to me not the name on the back or the name of the coach.

I want to see a clean program of course with college athletes doing what they should. I just wont be to hung up on style or personalities if they can get us to a winning level. I know what kind of football I like to see played and that is the winning kind.

I'll compare every mistake the new coach makes to something successful Brewster did. Get ready for a lot of " but at least the old coach improved academic performance."

Considering we all survived the hiring of a NFL tight ends coach nobody had ever heard of, I figure "openly question fanhood" for a week or so.

This is the credited response.

As long as they don't do anything stupid like hire Trestman, I will continue to support the team. They might as well sell TCF Bank Stadium to the vikings and scuttle the football program if they bring that dud in.

If this was sent to Maturi it would read, "What will U do when you don't hire the coach the U wants."

..but I am sure he will get this one right

I'll complain about the coach for awhile until he starts doing well, then I'll leave the site for awhile, and come back everytime the Gophers lose. I'll do this for the 8 years the next coach is here, when, after winning 3 Big Ten titles in his final four years, he'll get fired after a 7-5 season, and I'll come back on to tell everyone that I knew all along that he wasn't our guy. As long as the coach is fired as opposed to retiring, I can tell everyone that I was right.

I'll hold my breath till I turn blue! That should teach 'em!

Gas

I'll "fart the Rouser" from my season ticket seats knowing that there's a change "a comin" over what we have had the last couple of disorganized years!

As long as it's not Trestman or Chryst, I'll have a beer and tell myself 'he's better then Brewster.'

If it's Chryst I'll jab pins in my Maturi voo doo doll and tell myself it's not really any worse than having to pray Bevel calls the right play in to Favre to set up Longwell for the field goal that puts the Vikings in the Super Bowl while eating a Culvers Butter Burger and drinking a Miller light.

But if it's Trestman, well that will be bad enough for me to lose it.

As long as the new HC is a significant upgrade over Stoll, Salem, Gutekunst, Wacker, Mason, and Brewster I'll be satisfied until proven otherwise.

I'll

Support the coach over the first two seasons. Cool on his lukewarm performance. Become agitated in year 3. Start stupid posts about taking over CMU in protest. Watch goofballs post funny spitballs about my rants. Start laughing. The cycle is endless. You poor bastards!

   but did you not know that a gameboy will solve it all? Man oh man are you outdated. :)

I've got my pitchfork sharpened, I'm hoping Maturi makes the announcement Halloween night!

Hey Khaliq, did McCarney beat all those women in the picture? He is looking at them like he'd like another shot or two at 'em.

If the U of M hires a scrub coach. I will save the money and drop my season tickets. I will pick them back up in 4-5 years at the next coaching change.

If the U of M hires an average coach or better I will continue to go to games.

Throw a big hissy-fit and become a fan of whoever Jon Gruden coaches next. :D

I have a feeling, from reading the posts on the first page, that there will be a lot more "complain about it for four years" than people let on when Mike Leach isn't announced as our next coach.
