Caught driving while high, with drugs in his possession. Currently in jail awaiting arraignment. Suspended indefinitely, likely off the team.

#fireizzo right?

Nix to Iowa St? The home of dishonored Spartans! :)

INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW! And if guilty, who cares!

If there was just marijuana in the car... not the end of the world to me, but that's Izzo's call. I'm not sure he'd be as forgiving as other coaches. Gotta see what the allegations are and if "caught driving while high, with drugs in his possession" is accurate.

Maybe the weed helps him in his efforts to keep his weight down?

Do you have to practice to be this insufferable, or is it a natural gift?

Nix's punishment certainly will factor in whether there have been previous indiscretions, public or otherwise (think Devoe Joseph). If this is the first time he's made a really stupid decision, I wouldn't expect him to get booted off the team but as GW said, Izzo makes that call.

There were previous problems with Korie Lucious and Chris Allen. Don't know if that's the case with Nix, though Izzo did keep him back from the Maui a couple years ago when Nix was toying with the idea of transferring.

This is about the 5th time Nix has been in trouble.

Details please.
I believe this isn't his first suspension, he nearly quit the team last season, missed a trip to maui for unknown reasons, etc.

I am having difficulty finding details without going to about page 100 on google due to this current incident.

This will get swept under the rug just like the rape incident involving a few players a few years ago.

Izzo can definitely coach but he is a borderline slime ball. He does a fantastic job of hiding it.

This is weird - several other teams have received bad news this offseason while we have received good news with the possibility of more good news (as I knock on wood)...

Nix doing this
Michigan losing 4 players
Sullinger declaring for the draft
Leonard declaring for the draft
Illinois and Nebraska fire their coaches (could be considered good news)

According to the author Izzo abhors pot. As Art said, he apparently didn't abhor alleged sexual assault.

Um, yeah, it's NOT a good thing that John Groce is coaching Illinois if you're a Gopher fan - you're not a fan of Illinois, right? He's going to have them back to the top half of the Big Ten (with serious staying power) within 3 years. I can't say that Sadler being fired is good news, either - he had several years to build his program and couldn't put together a veteran team that could compete in the Big Ten - he deserved to be fired. While it remains to be seen whether Miles will get them to the top half of the Big Ten, the odds of him doing it are better than Sadler getting it done.

Always thought Nix looked like he was eating tooooooooooo many brownies.
