What should the open coaching spot be used for?

In my opinion, the spot should be used to hire an O-line coach. That way limegrover can focus solely on the offence. Thus giving us a Zimmer/Turner type coaching dynamic. And I think the O- line needs a full time coach, not a coordinator/coach.

While I agree that it would be nice to have an o-line coach I gotta believe that Claeys will end up promoting Sawvel to DC and hiring another coach on the defensive side of the ball. In the pro's you can have a million QC coaches and other helpers which makes it easier for a head coach to be a coordinator and coach but you are limited quite a bit in college. I could potentially see some shuffling of duties on offense but I would be surprised to see them fill the open spot with another offensive coach.

Sawvel hopefully gets the promotion, and add an O-Line asst. coach or another on defense.

Oline, but it will be interesting to see how special teams are handled now that Jerry is gone

A big time recruiter. That's the biggest loss in losing Kill. Everything on the field will pretty much be the same. I don't care if he's the Holder Coordinator- we need someone to bring some more skill players in.

This! Keep the pipeline full of skilled players.

You think lack of skill players is the problem this year? First, I find the term "skill position" to be insulting to positions not considered one. They all require skills, different skills. Beyond that, though, I see our problem this year as a sub-standard offensive line -- mostly caused by injuries. We had our best offenses in the Mason era when we had a dominating OL.
