I think Hollins has to start and play a great game and hit some outside shot for us to have a chance. We can slow Sullinger down with our big men, but can we cover the 3pt shooters and drivers from the perimeter is a big question. I think Hollins will have to play well as he can match up decently with people like lighty, Diebler, and Bufford.

Craft has been downright awesome too. I think we will miss Nolen bad against him. Maybe chip can play well too.

I think we'll need both Chip and Hollins to play well, because we'll need them on the floor for defense. I'm comfortable with our interior D on Sullinger, especially at home, where hopefully we'll be able to get away with more stuff, but I'm more worried about who's going to be tracking Buford and Lighty.

I'm thinking the right answer is 8 guys, to keep it close!

I know Ohio St. hasnt dominated people especially on the road. But top to bottom I think they are the best team in the nation. Duke could challenge them if Irving comes back 100%. Ohio st. has the best low post scorer in college, who also is a great rebounder and passer. They have great 3pt shooters to surround him. They have tall, athletic, and experienced wings. They have a super quick and smart freshment pt guard also. Their only weaknesses are they only play 7, so depth, Lauderdale's free throw shooting, and ?? I'm not sure what else.

Ralph

If I can only pick 1 (we'll need more than that), I'm going with Ralph. He needs to be engaged & aggressive Ralph, not passive Ralph on Sunday. He has shooting skills for a big man that might force Sullinger to come away from the basket a little bit.

Plus, we need all our bigs to beat the he*l out of Sullinger. Play physical with him, make sure it's not just Sullinger handing out the physical pounding. For being such a big, strong guy, he and Matta have done an awful lot of whining this year about how physical things get against Sullinger.

One other thing. I like the fact that Tubby's not always working the officials, but he'll need to do it on Sunday. Don't let Matta be the only one whispering sweet-nothings into the officials' ears.

Someone is going to have to hit some "home-court-unexpected-threes" for us to win. That someone could be Hollins, Rodney, Chip, or Mav, or a combination of both.

I don't know that any one person has to have that "Superman" type of game (see: Vincent Grier against Wisconsin, 2005), but we're going to need probably about 4-5 threes combined from these guys in addition to hopefully 3 or 4 from Blake in order to have a chance.

I think Texas could challenge them for best team in the country right now. I think that they play the best defense in the country.

bigs need to defend inside without double downs that would expose the perimeter

Trevor has to make his bid for the big time. He needs to be above and beyond what we have ever seen.

Mbakwe has to be the best player on the floor for the gophers for them to have a chance in a game like this. If he isn't scoring inside, they have no chance. Somebody needs to put some stick-em on his hands, he has had an awful lot of balls fly out of his hands on his way up the past 5-6 games.

The rims

After watching Ohio St. play, the only way we have a chance is if they miss their open shots. They are way too athletic, have great spacing, pass very well, and have too much on an inside/out presence for our current roster to match up. They will get any open perimeter shot they want. Just have to pray that Diebler, Buford, Lighty and Craft are all off.

To answer the original posters question, however, I'd say Iverson. He will be the odd man in the size war and has shown some ability to have a large impact on a game. He will need to be huge.

All of them.

The whole team has to play well and consistent. Hollins needs to emerge as a bonafide starter and scorer.

BTW I'm talking the rest of the season, not just Sunday.

Go Gophers.
