What is our identity on offense?

We're not a post-up team (Mo is our best and he's not great). We run a lot of 3-point line pick and roll with our centers (the two slowest guys who are unable to finish if they get the ball on the move). We shoot a lot of threes but we rarely look like we ended up with a shot we tried to manufacture. Matthieu can get by almost any defender, but it's like nobody knows what that is supposed to accomplish, so we rarely get easy points off the drive & dish, and Deandre often gets too deep and gets stuffed. Joey is OK at pick & pop, but that hasn't been a staple of the offense. Are we simply lacking the talent needed to run the Florida O? I usually only find 2-3 possessions per game where I'm really impressed with what we've run on the offensive end.

This is why teams that aren't just massively talented need cupcakes at the start of the year, so they can establish what they are able to do before the tough competition comes along. I hate the cupcakes as much as the next guy, but, for our program - a middling Big Ten team talentwise - we need those games to perfect what we do have.

Mo is among the best post scorers in the big ten. His defense and rebounding suck. While I like that the players aren't afraid to make a mistake unlike the previous situation, i sometimes find people jacking up off one pass and the defense hasnt had to move or guard anyone. I am ok with it if its a player who has just hit 2-3 on 3's but other times its guys just shooting. Morris is going to be ok, he is a juco it takes time, but his 3 pt shot he shoots from the right side of his body he doesnt go straight up and he wont shoot a good percantage until he corrects that. The good part is we have played against quicker teams than there are in the big ten where the two dre's have stuggled.

It's worth being mentioned as it's a huge concern. We are a 18-20 turnover team when playing equal or better teams. When under pressure our guys force passes, drives and shots.

How do you get the game to slow down for the guys (metaphorically) so they can look for the best opportunity? Seems like this is a huge challenge for practice and coaching.

i normally would say experience, but since it's the seniors who are struggling, who know's. A few easy teams to jell against will probably help. This team outplayed what was nationally thought a more talented SMU team in the championship so they definitely have that upside.
