There has been some talk about keeping Brewster around until the end of the season for, at the very least, recruiting purposes.
Initially, I thought that made great sense. At least that way there will be something waiting for whomever takes the job.
However, now I'm wondering. If you're Brewster--- what do you have to sell? Sure, you've got the campus amenities that aren't going anywhere. But how do you convince a high school senior you're going to be here for his freshman year, let alone all four years of his eligibility?
What do you hang your hat on? "We're really working to build a program here..." Most parents will take one look at the results of year 4 and give him the boot from their living room.
I guess what I'm saying is--- put yourself in a recruit's shoes: what credibility does Brew have left?
