All joking aside, what would you most like to hear from Coach Kill in his introductory press conference?

Does he address the gorilla in the room (he's not a "Tubby-type hire") and get on with it? Or does he just move it along?

What sort of promises should he be making? What sort of promises would you like to hear?

I would like to hear him say that he has a ton of confidence, but that it will take some time... I would love for him to be joking around and say that many might not call him a "Tubby Smith" type hire, but I don't think he's doing it. Brewster seemed like he was running for the presidency of the USA with all of his promises... I'd like Kill to be honest.

I'd like to hear the press grill Maturi and Kill with some of the most brutal, yet fair and honest, questions possible. This is the flagship institution and they are a ton of constituencies to whom they must answer. I'd like honesty. If I hear Kill say it's going to take a number of years I'm pretty sure my head's going to spin off and shoot up into the ether. Both Maturi and Kill should address the gorilla in the room and the press should make sure the question is asked and answered. Other than that I'm guessing Kill says something along the lines of: "I tawt I taw a puddy tat."

"I have a one year contract which I intend to fulfill"

its all about the recruiting

"its not about the X's and O's its about the Johnnies and Joes"

"We'll play hard!"

"We'll play with passion!"

"We'll play smart!"

"I am very excited to be the offensive coordinator for the new head coach Chris Petersen"

He shouldn't say anything about the Rose Bowl.

Goal No. 1 is beat Wisconsin and get the ax back in Minnesota. Goal No. 2 is to beat Iowa again and keep Floyd home. Goal No. 3 is to take advantage of Michigan and get the jug. We all saw what the Iowa did for the players and fans. It gave meaning to an otherwise lost season.

Maintain a winning record against the Gophers' rivals and other success will come. If you win, players will come. If you win, fans will come.

First goal? Beat Wisconsin. Get Paul Bunyan's Ax in Minnesota.

We're looking forward to winning this bowl game and a great 2011 for NIU

still not completely buying the Kill story. Who knows. M could be sitting there telling Mr B I'll counter sign the Kill one if you don't let me sign this one over here

Here are some words:

"Gold Country"

"block"

"tackle"

"graduate"

"If that ugly ogre MF-er tries to go for two against me, I'll do more than just shake his hand all angry-like!"

i hope he says we are minnesota we probably wont win much so lets not expect rose bowls or national titles! im going to coach the same offense year after year and my staff will be stable, but wins are a tough thing to come by.

if he says rose bowl its over for him!

"I'd like to thank Joel Maturi for flying me in to the Twin Cities today. This campus and its facilities are truly amazing. I truly believe Minnesota Gophers football is on the rise, and I'd like to introduce the man that will continue that rise and take the program to the next level... Mr. Mike Leach."

I'll be happy if I don't hear any of the following words:

Chili.

Tremendous.

Tremendously.

Really Tremendous.

I'll be ecstatic if I hear:

I only took this job because Joel assured me he was stepping down at the end of the year.

He doesn't have to address the "Tubby-type hire" question at all. That one is on Maturi only.

As for promises, he only needs to promise to work very hard and make the team better. That's all. And frankly, that's all. I think that everyone has had a gut full of the Brewster "we're going to do this and do that" crap that we were all force-fed for four years. If nothing else, Kill represents the polar opposite in terms of personality, which is fine by me at this stage.

Everyone is on board

I briefly sat down and individually spoke to each of our fine players for a minute. Each of our players indicated they are onboard as Gophers and that we all share the same desire to work together and become Big Ten champs. Yes, that is a tall task but together we hope to make that vision a reality.Together we feel we are going to surprise a lot of people. I am really excited by the talent we have here.
