Absolutely nothing! Nor should he.
I don't know if any of you saw the Big 10 Network live Q&A coverage with Tubby from the South Regional in Austin Friday.
He clearly referred the fragile mental state of this years Gopher team. He felt he needed to be more of a father figure than coach. Wish I had the question and direct answer but that was drift. Very telling!
You must not be familiar with the job description of coach, especially college coach.Absolutely nothing! Nor should he.

Reminds me of all the times my dad threw me under the bus...
Which is exactly what the relentless name calling, insulting comments, put downs of the players that so many did. Tubby did not let the kids down, the so called "Fan Base" did. Shame on all of you.
I honestly think Teague made up his mind a long time ago that this was Tubby's last run. I can't see any scenario where he is back next season. If he wants the season ticket base to pay the high priced seat licenses next season, a positive and exciting change needs to happen. Teague considers himself a basketball guy, and firmly believes he has a special talent when it comes to finding the next great coach. Tubby has failed in multiple ways over the course of multiple seasons, consistently living down to expectations and never finishing in the top half of the conference. The program has had multiple transfers, all of which you could argue became much better players at their new school. Tubby's offensive scheme is a complete nightmare, and his substitutions are down right mind boggling in critical situations.
People talk about overhauling the assistants, which is a total joke if you ask me because Tubby doesn't relinquish any control to his assistants anyway. I'll tell you right now that it was agreed at the beginning of the season that Jirsa was going to run the offense, and Tubby was going to run the defense. It lasted 2 practices and Tubby pulled the plug. If you want to look out for the long term future of the program, you get a proven, well known coach to start recruiting the Big 3 as soon as possible. With a Tubby return, the chances of us getting even 1 of them is highly unlikely.
I believe in Teague, he will make the right decision and bring in the right guy.

My take - based on a few conversations with folks close to the program.
Very soon, like within days, Teague is going to tell Tubby that his staff needs to be revamped in a very significant way. New/better coaches (specifically on the offensive end) and better recruiters. And, specifically, that Saul's contract will not be renewed - part of which is a residual from the DUI. Remember - part of why Tubby came here - was Kentucky would not bend to Tubby's wishes on Saul's position in the program.
At that point, Tubby will need to decide if he wants to stay or not. If he sucks it up and agrees to the new staff, Teague is going to stay with him and the new staff for at least next season.
But most assume that Tubby will negotiate a buyout not wanting at this point of his career to be forced to make that kind of change.
This is the only way for Teague to leverage the situation into something workable. Firing Tubby out right is not going to be a winning decision on many fronts (especially the State legislature). A Tubby decision to retire, even with some major severance, would be far better received.

The State Legislature? Please tell me you're joking?
