Frankly, unless its in an accredited journal with a byline, I don't think it's worth $0.01. Tweets are worthless. As my neighbor who's an editor for the strib said, they won't put anything in print (or on their website) unless:
A)they have corroborating sources
B)its a single source and its unimpeachable (e.g. Bruininks or Maturi).
Remember that anyone posting anything on the internet has a motive. In this case it's either:
1- a journalist trying to get a scoop. And noone remembers the 10 breathless tweets you had that were BS if you get lucky and are the first to post XXX is the next Gopher coach
2- It's a coach or his agent either trying to save face, or leverage more jack out of his current employer
3- Its a booster, or maybe someone in the athletic dept, trying to build momentum for "his guy", or tear down some other candidate. That rumor about Hoke being a "B tier candidate" comes to mind
4- In some cases it may be an orchestrated leak from the athletic dept, either as a smokescreen or a trial balloon.
5- Given the amount of ineptitude in the past from Bierman, there could be a deep throat leaking stuff he shouldn't. If so, that person should get S-canned.
Overall though, I think Maturi and the search firm have done a good job keeping most of this below the radar. Wait until Michigan kicks dickrod to the curb. Remember what a monkeypooh fight their last coaching search was?
