I am in the UK and won't be back in the Twin Cities until Tuesday. Could someone fill me in on what Brew said this morning on KSTP. Thanks. Cheers.

Wouldn't confirm that barring unforeseen circumstances, Weber is his starting QB on Sept. 2 ... Wouldn't confirm my belief that his starting RB is not yet on campus ... did provide some news that Bennett got hurt in practice the other day ... addressed the penalties and said they have officials at every practice, and pointed at the Iowa and Iowa St. games as progress ... loves his DTs ... was asked why he stayed with Weber last year, and said he believes in showering his QB with love ... spoke very highly of Decker, and said when he talks to NFL coaches about the draft, Triplett, Campbell, and Lawrence have all come up.
I asked him why I should believe that they can win 7 or 8 games with that schedule (9 games vs. bowl eligible teams from a year ago) ... he said he firmly believes that he is building something here.
All together, nothing groundbreaking, but for the casual Gophers fan listening that isn't hardcore like us, I think it came off OK. We had him for 15-minutes or so ... always enjoy talking Gophers.

I always enjoy listening to Brew.

He always makes me feel like we are gonna be contending.

doogie

I searched for KSTP radio to try to listen, couldn't find it. Is there something new like AM 1500 ESPN.com. Will there be a podcast?

Right on. I wish there was a podcast or something. Spring Ball is difficult because we all are getting so excited about Gopher football yet it is nearly impossible to answer any real questions at this time of year. I think there is a chance that a freshman RB could come in and take Bennett's job(or Eskridge), but that is impossible to know before those kids are even on campus.

No doubt. I could listen to him all day. Kind of like how I wish Jon Gordon and Dazzle would do play by play of my life, I could listen to them all day too.

Hillarious. What would be your intermission music? :D

Thanks for having him on this morning Doogie. I agree with what you said about it not being groundbreaking, yet informative. One thing I found interesting was his take on the maturity level of some of the players and how the light is starting to click on for them. I thought that was rather candid.

Come Monday, the new website launches that will be extremely detailed, including all podcasts ... since all resources are put into that right now, the Brew interview can't be podcasted.

Hey Doogie

With the change to ESPN, is there any chance anyone there will call on Learfield for the radio rights to the Gophers? Coaches shows, games etc. How many more years of WCCO and Dave Lee do we need to endure?

Not sure on how many more years WCCO has the radio rights ... knowing the Hubbards, I think when the time arrives, there would be interest in acquiring the rights. I have talked to the right people about helping out with as much Gophers related programming as they are open to carrying ... would like to go back to doing a Fanline show with Matt O and Sean Hoffman if they are interested. Would also love to do a Friday night pregame show, but with Twins games, might be tough.
