Buy your new home close to campus. You'll be driving that route a lot. I would imagine rush hour in DeKalb isn't quite what it can be in the Twin Cities. I don't want to hear any Dan Monson-like whining that the drive in from Eden Prairie interfered with doing your job. I can't imagine JK being a real flashy guy but I'd bet he can get a great price for this home:http://www.edinarealty.com/MN/Shorewood/55331/homes-for-sale/27720-Virginia-Cove-43861125/popup BTW, it's Brew's abode.

Don't believe in little birdies or close personal friends. I would however ingratiate yourself to Patrick Reusse. He wields a pen and a microphone. Invite Strib writers Reusse and Souhan down for a little chat, ask Souhan to go get a cup of coffee and lock the door and just talk to Reusse. Souhan doesn't know jack$hit about college football. Seems like Reusse and you would get along quite well.

Hopefully your agent put in a clause that you have a big say in the who the next AD otherwise it may be your head on the chopping block once a new guy is in place. Of course win now will make that a moot point.

Your name may not sell tickets but you know what will? Tell the U's administration you want to make the gameday atmosphere on campus an event. Somewhere where people will want to spend their entire fall Saturdays. Let the students have some fun and give them a place where they can get a little rowdy. Give the big donors a parking spot close by the stadium but open up the parking lots for the Common Man. It may cost $40 per game but give everyone the opportunity.

JK, get yourself a nice tailored maroon suit. Ask Tubby if you need to. Additionally, you're a Nike man now. Hope you like the swoosh and leave those Addidas workout shoes in DeKalb.

Don't lose to North Dakota State University. Nor any another D1-AA. Ever!!

Don't refer to the Pig, Axe and Jug as trinkets.

The commute to and from Eden Prairie is a nightmare. It's easily solved by not getting a house in Eden Prairie! Plenty of good houses reasonably near the U.

Beat schools from states that share a border with us. Graduate players. Enjoy MPLS/STP, it is the second greatest place in the world next to rural MN.

Continue with Brew's efforts to draw attention to the glory days, and get your chili hot.

The Big Ten schedule is going to be tough, but you can go a long way towards instilling confidence in your team by winning 3 of your first 4 games. Do that and the fan base that is on the fence right now will come back. You're not expected to go to the Rose Bowl right away, buy you are expected to be competitive in every game. You have legitmate talent on the team. Utilize it. Good luck, sir. We're cheering for you.

Spend your time talking to the football junkies in the press and steer away from Sid.

Get a warm coat and good gloves.

Enjoy the U - it's one of the best places on Earth.

Stick to what got you here and don't second guess yourself.

Oh and go treat yourself to a good burger at Annie's.

If you feel like the housing market in the TC will improve in the next 3 years, then buy a house. Otherwise just rent since I don't see JK coaching here beyond the 2013 season.

Don't pay attention to the anonymous dickheads on the Gopherhole. Better yet- don't read it at all.

And don't pay attention to GopherHole. There are a lot of passionate fans here, but also a few assholes that aren't worth it.

My advice - throw your "friendship" with Bret Bielema out the door. You two are at rival programs now. As you prepare for the game against UW, please make sure your "coaching card" has instructions on what to do when up by 25 points.

After that, just concentrate on beating Wisconsin and Iowa every year - if you do that then recruiting, alumni and fan support will come in droves.

Oh, and please embrace our program's history and prominent alumni as well as Brew did, continue to schedule at least one legitimate non-conference game every year, and stop using "tremendous."

Go Gophers!!

LOL!

I must be worth it since you continue to respond to my comments.

Maturi snapped hooked hist first hire out of bounds and he chunked his "Mulligan" barely past the ladies tees.

Kill Nebraska
Kill Iowa
Kill Michigan State
Kill Northwestern
Kill Purdue
Kill Michigan
Kill Illinois
Kill Ohio State
Kill Indiana
Kill Penn State

but especially Kill Wisconsin!!!

1) Embrace the State of Minnesota and the University of Minnesota whole-heartedly.
2) Let your coaching speak for itself.
3) Don't worry about the media, they're going to say what they say regardless of what you do.
4) Build your program around competing with Iowa and Wisconsin; the rest will then work itself out.
5) Lesson from Jeff Horton - make sure the players are enjoying football.
