What a difference one road win over a top-10 RPI team (Indiana currently #9) can make. Gophers jumped 21 spots from #58 to #37 with last night's win.

Now the challenge? Don't give it right back on Sunday. Losing @ Penn State (#136, last among B1G teams) essentially would accomplish that. Can we handle a little success? Let's enjoy this one until Sunday afternoon, then let the knots return.

The Gophers have a bit of shot at going on a little roll here:

Sun, Jan 15 at Penn St. 4:00 pm
Sun, Jan 22 Northwestern 4:00 pm
Wed, Jan 25 at (6) Michigan St. 8:30pm
Sat, Jan 28 Illinois 8:00 pm
Wed, Feb 1 at Iowa 8:30 pm
Sun, Feb 5 at Nebraska 1:00 pm

Every game is winnable. Basically what this team has proven is that the result of each game - more or less - comes down to whether the opponents will make a decent percentage of their threes. Since the focus of Tubby's defense is inside, and not the perimeter, we literally have to hope our opponents miss open shots. The Gophers are not going to change overnight. So sit back, relax, and just hope the other team misses. That's what Gopher basketball is right now.

IU didn't get very many open 3's. Mostly on long rebounds because the team was crashing the boards hard.

Josh 087, last night was the first time I can remember Tubby "did not " double down on the other teams post. By not doubling down defended the "3" much better. He decided to let Zeller have what he could get from Sampso/Elliason and defend the perimeter. Good chouce.

+1. Glad he's finally trying to make some adjustments

In four of the five B1G games this year, the opponents have shot 33.3% or less from 3's.
