Westbrook Interview

Heard that this morning... absolutely absurd interview. I can see why the senior leadership is perceived to be coming from Damian.

What I thought was absurd was the fact that he said he was more than holding his own vs. Amare Stoudamire and other NBA players.... And he was sure he had an NBA career ahead of him.

That line kind got me also. He is not lacking for confidence.

I actually do admire Westbrook for his confidence or delusion, whichever you think is the true nature of it. I do not think he is as grand a player as he thinks he is. But, every team can use a guy like Westbrook as far as confidence/delusion is concerned. I think one problem is that we just do not have a player to put him in his place or in a right place in order for him to accept a role a bit more humble to his own standard.

I am sure that at PSU, Tubby was thinking about one incident in the last season that he called time-out while Westbrook had the ball with only a few seconds remaining on the clock. Without Westbrook on the court, Tubby would have called one there to set up the last shot. I guess they do affect each other. Hopefully in a more winning way the rest of the way.

I admire LW's confidence too. But I also wonder if that confidence/cockiness/delusion can rub his teammates the wrong way and prevent a cohesive unit. When struggling/losing, this can widen the divide......

Kirby said "I'll carry you, man".

Does LW say that or does he say "just give it to me already, man, I'll fix your mess"
