Interesting clash of styles with Snyder's fundamentalism ahead of WVA's flash and dash.

Extremely impressive, Bill Snyder is a hell of a coach. I was just looking over their past recruiting classes and it gives me hope since they rarely get 4 star talent.

Bill Snyder is one of the most underrated coaches. What he's now done at Manhattan twice is nothing short of remarkable.

Go Gophers!!

Bill Snyder is worthy of every accolade he receives. This guy revived a program that was actually worse than the gophers. It just goes to show you it can be done. It takes finding the right coach and letting him do his thing. This seems, to me, what Minnesota is letting Jerry do. The key is to be patient.

No question he is worthy. IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Bill Snyder had a coaching record of 18-26 his first 4 seasons (1989-1992). He was 22-25 his last two seasons (2004, 2005) and first 2 seasons (2009, 2010) of this 2nd tenure. Those 8 seasons are a 40-51 record .440 winning pct. Those 8 seasons account for 38% of his time at K-State.

Coming into 1989, K-State was 9-55 the previous six seasons. Snyder takes over in '89 and went 18-26 in his first four years as a head coach. He then had a stretch of 9+ wins in 10 of 11 seasons, including seven season of 11 wins.

Point being he is a hell of a coach who was given time (on 2 separate occasions nonetheless) to get things in place, develop his program, and and let his kids perform.
Ironic that he had the likes of UNLV, Indiana State, Montana, New Mexico State, UL Lafayette, Northern Illinois, Temple, Massachusetts, Missouri State, etc. scheduled on his non-conference slates at various times during his tenure.

Don't know for sure if it's true, but I heard he turned down the Gopher job twice.
