and I have settle down

I was floating on the statement: "another Tubby Smith hire" but now reality has set in and you know this isn't to bad.

This is exactly what we needed.

We will give him time to get the results we want.

He is inheriting good young talent to build on. The cupboard isn't bare.

I think we will go 7 - 5 next year.

You, the recruits who have already committed, stick with the Gophers. Your ride will be even better.

The road to recovery... denial, anger, then recovery. If you watched Harnish a bunch this year you have to be excited about what kind of future Gray has as QB. Nobody was going to put MG in a better position to succeed than Kill.

We're screwed. Kill will have a record comparable to Mason and in 8 years we will still be without a Big Ten title...and looking for a new coach.

I have no doubt that Kill can coach...many doubts about his recruiting...mostly I don't think he can make an impact that elevates this program because after 17 years as a HC...we are the best he can do and he was our 16th choice!

you know nothing, and you are a typical philly sports fan. please stop.

If Kill's team played in the Big Ten this year, how many conference wins do they have? 3? 4? 5?

We're shooting for .500 in conference play.

Today we're closer than yesterday.

Mason didn't really even try that hard at recruiting. If Kill has that same mindsight, that will be problematic. In years when we were doing comparable to Wisconsin and Iowa we were losing quality in-state guys to those schools. In contrast, while Iowa and Wisconsin were having a ton of success (during Brew's tenure), we were able to keep almost all of those kids from them. So if Kill is willing to go all out as a recruiter, I can't imagine that his results wouldn't be decent (middle of the Big 10 ish).

I think a big difference between Kill and Mason is defense. I know with Mason's offenses, we were never really too concerned about graduating players on offense because we knew that those guys on that side of the ball knew what they were doing. We were going to have a good offensive line and we were going to have a good running back because those guys could coach.

Well, the same seems to be able to be said about Kill except for defense. He took a terrible defensive team and had the best defense in the MAC the last three seasons, and he did the same thing at Southern Illinois.

If Mason would have been able to mirror his success on offense to defense, we would have had a lot more success. The hope is that Kill will be able to do that, and we won't see a revolving door of coordinator's where we feel it's needed (Mason on defense and Brew everywhere).

Kill's Northern Illinois team? You seriously want to bash the guy because you think he'd only get 4 Big 10 wins with a Northern Illinois squad?

I think Kill is a solid football guy. It's always a roll of the dice as to whether or not one has made the right choice.

It's funny that for all the hubbub, we've ended up with Kill. Colorado hired an NFL position coach. Kill was getting a lot of buzz as a possibility as Indiana, which will supposedly look at coordinators.

We're a mid-tier program that looks as though it may be slipping into the bottom-tier, as the hot prospects all went the other way on us.

I don't think Studwell was bashing him. His point (and it's a good one) is that we need to worry about getting to mid-level status in the Big 10 before we worry about a Big Ten Championship. Kill will help us get there.
