Buckeyes Wire first out of the gate:

7. Minnesota

OK, so it was a nice bounce-back win for Minnesota that still has an outside shot at finding its way into a group of teams among the best in the West. The Gophers need a lot of help, but should at least go bowling at the end of the year.

Wolverines Wire chimes in:

6. Minnesota

Minnesota certainly rounded into form once again, getting Tanner Morgan back while dominating both in the run game and defensively.

Rutgers produced next to nothing on offense, while Mo Ibrahim continued his electric level of play with 159 yards and three touchdowns. With one fumble lost and two interceptions, the Scarlet Knights didn’t stand a chance.

Next, Minnesota heads to Lincoln to take on Nebraska.

Spartans Wire chimes in:

6. Minnesota

Record: 5-3 (2-3 in Big Ten)

This week’s result: Win vs. Rutgers

Next game: at Nebraska (Nov. 5)

Minnesota got back starting quarterback Tanner Morgan but it was the rushing attack and defense that led the Golden Gophers to a shutout victory over Rutgers on Saturday. The Golden Gophers get a much-needed win to snap their three-game losing streak.

247 chimes in:

8) Minnesota (5-3, 2-3 B1G) — Last week: 8

Mohamed Ibrahim (159 yards, 3 TDs) carried Minnesota to a dominating 31-0 win over Rutgers to help Minnesota end a three-game losing streak and get to within one win of bowl eligibility. Tanner Morgan also returned after missing last week’s loss to Penn State due to a concussion, and he was solid, completing 14 of 21 passes for 122 yards. After two rough games, Minnesota’s defense was dominant, limiting the Scarlet Knights to just 134 total yards. With Northwestern on the schedule, Minnesota shouldn’t sweat making a bowl. But they still have many meaningful games left with rivals Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin on the schedule.

Next: at Nebraska, 11 a.m. (ESPN2)

Go Gophers!!

Nittany Lions Wire chimes in:

7. Minnesota

Last game: Won vs. Rutgers, 31-0

Last week: 8

Minnesota got the rebound win they were looking for at home against Rutgers in week 9. The Gophers welcomed back Tanner Morgan at quarterback but Mohamed Ibrahim and the defense took care of business against the Scarlet Knights.

Next game: at Nebraska

One common theme with almost all these power rankings.....the teams left on our schedule are all ranked behind us.
