Mark it down.

This kid is ready and is having a great summer/fall. He is finally healthy and I predict he will finish the season as the third best QB in the big 10 only behind Pryor and Stanzi.

Good to see MQ getting reps with the first team as a WR today.

If our line can run block, Weber will have less passing attempts and yards than in previous years. The key for Weber is touchdown to interception ration. It must be really good for Weber to have a great year. If we can run some, and that is still a big question, then play action works, safeties cheat up and single coverage on the wide outs make passing easier. So yes I think Weber will have a good year, but it will be hard statistacly to get to top 3 in Big Tem, IMO

I just hope he can avoid some of the really horrid throws he made last season. I have faith in Weber, but there were a couple of times last season when I had no idea what he was trying to do with the ball. I lay part of that at Fisch's feet, as the communication between receivers and Weber was garbled by the complexity of it all, but when Weber's confident, he can be very good.

Stanzi is mediocre. antother year only makes him more mediocre. Tolzien is better. But Weber is still better than that. I too would put Weber 3rd, but behind Pryor and Cousins.

Weber will have to learn to not stare down his receivers to have a big year. Too many times he would stare at the receiver he was going to throw to the second he got the ball and the defenders just jumped on his pass. He has to learn to look for his second and third reads. If he continues to stare down his receivers he is going to have a lot of interceptions and batted down balls.

THIS.

Just back from the scrimmage. I don't expect alot from Weber, but he threw well today. However, he still was locking in on one rec. most of the time, but was on target. Gray looked off and saw the field, but very inaccurate. Made the choice easy today. Still don't like the idea of 1's against 2's, tough to really guage the team. For sure our #1 off. is better than our # 2 def. Still like Watkins, Lewis and henderson in the secondary. Carter looked much more comfortable and Manual is not ready!!!! High hit on Lewis might have been legit, but close and the kind of play we need back there. #7 can't remember his name,Fr. from Fla. looks to have good potential. A redshirt yr and he might be ready next yr.

snap out of it.....don't any of you remember last year? Weber is a disaster.

Gotta love the guy who's life is so pathetic he wakes up at 6 am on a SUNDAY to troll message boards. What a sad life this little guy must have.

I think it was worse when Decker was in the lineup. Decker was easily our best offensive weapon and Weber would not even look at another receiver on many plays. Hopefully that changes now that we don't have a "superstar."

If we are talking about last year, the phrase should be was a disaster. Weber showed a lot of promise as a freshman and sophomore. With a new OC and QB coach I look for Weber to have a good year to a very good year.

Weber

I think Weber will have a stellar year. I also think his recievers are going to be a lot better than people think they will be. Mcknight, Green, Stoud., Gray and Allen might turn out to be one of the better recieving units in the Big Ten. Plus the O-line should be vastly inproved. I'm still not sold on the running backs. I think Weber will be in the top 3 quarterbacks in the Big Ten. He'll have a stellar year.

I don't even think Stanzi is the best QB on his own team. Vandenberg is going to be a stud.

Its all about whether 'Good Web' or 'Bad Web' shows up, and last year it was game-to-game.

'Good Web' - trusts his instincts, spreads the ball around, throws an accurate ball, and picks his spots when to take off and run (Purdue, @ NU, Mich St in '09).

'Bad Web' - locks onto receivers, throws the ball at the feet, and makes poor decisions on when/where to break from the pocket (@ OSU, @ PSU, Illinois, and SDSU in '09).

Obviously, O-Line play can and has facilitated the appearance of 'Good' or 'Bad' Web, so they are culpable in all this. Personally, I think he'll have a much better year than expected, partly because we'll be able to run the ball a little better and partly because our WRs will be better than expected, as others have said.

I don't believe he'll be All-Conference by any stretch, but he'll close out his career as a Goph with a strong senior year.
