We own Nebraska and Iowa owns us. How do we change that next week?

As amazing as our domination over Nebraska is, Iowa's domination over is frustrating AF. This Iowa team is solid as usual, but they don't seem special. We play like we did last night and we win, how do we begin to chip away at their dominance over us? It's frustrating year after year.

Yeah, for the most part, I don’t feel Iowa has a huge talent advantage over the gophers. I think they just have an identity. They are consistent and do a couple things as well and keep doing them over and over and over. Honestly, in the last eight or nine years, I think the games have been pretty even; Iowa has just played better or made fewer mistakes in those games. I think if the gophers play to their potential and don’t make mistakes, They’ll have a good chance to win.

I've always found that Minnesota's plodding, ball control, clock running style allows Ferentz to take a lot more risks. He's not worried of falling behind more than a score because the games aren't moving that fast...and that's Iowa's big concern, having to play catch up from down 10. They're not built for it. He knows against Minnesota he can take risks and it will still be a winnable ball game.

On the otherhand, Nebraska, post Pelini, has been soft and undisciplined. That plays into Fleckball. Hit 'em hard, don't turn the ball over, don't make dumb penalties, own the clock. They'll eventually wilt.

So, long story short, quicken the pace against Iowa and take some risks. Take Kirk back out of his comfort zone.

If PJ does things like call a TO on 4th and inches from near midfield then punt it 30 yards (like he did last night), we will lose again.
