Especially Hollins and Armelin. I thought Chip was the savior in the Cornell game with his brilliant 5 minute stretch in the final ten minutes. Both he and Hollins rarely do anything I can find fault with. Walker has had many nice minutes too.

Walker is outplaying Iverson right now. Iverson is in a little slump. Love the other two and you also have to hand it to Ahanmisi (sp?) who played a nice steady game tonight with 6 pts.

Glad Maverick is making a contribution. Heck, 4 out of 4 on free throws alone should endear him to us. IMO, better than Justin Cobbs. Seems more aggressive.

Walker is the most aggressive of our big men. I think he will develop into a nice player.

It seems that Colt and Ralph have forgotten what a strong drop step can do to smaller defenders. Too many jump hooks. Walker seems to be attacking the rim with more confidence then our junior big men.

At the same point last year I wondered why Cobbs was on the team. Maverick with two solid games in a row.

I hate to be that guy...ok I like being that guy. It's do not due. Thank you.

Walker is more aggressive than Iverson and Mbakwe? Would you say that before tonight's game?

I didn't mean to include Mbakwe in that statement of bigs, just Iverson and RS3. And yes, I think Walker has been more aggressive than Iverson when he gets the ball on the block.

Iverson's lack of consistency is infuriating! He can be extremely effective but other times he's a liability. I will say this, he always plays hard, hits the glass and alters shots around the rim. I have confidence that he'll continue to improve.

I'd agree that Iverson will be a real solid player in 3-4 years...

Err...

Iverson and RSIII are never going to be prolific scorers. Its not in their DNA. We need them to play good defense, epsecially against other great bigs, use fouls and get rebounds that Mbakwe misses. Ralph does have a nice 10-15 foot jump shot, so that is something he sould keep taking. The good news is we have enough big men now where we only need 1 of the 3 to have a good game for us to be sucessfull. Not counting Mbakwe in that, because we need his energy and dominance almost every night the rest of the way...

I kind of figured that you weren't including Mbakwe as I wrote that, but then I was too lazy to omit his name. I don't really think that Walker has been more aggressive than Iverson, but I suppose that's partially opinion. I didn't see the St. Joe's game, but Walker hadn't looked very aggressive up until that game (not including the games in Canada).

I can't think of a single instance where Ralph has used a drop step, or gone into his defender and initiated contact. The jump hook is a great shot to have (though he'd do well to make it more consistently) but it does infuriate me at times when he doesn't attack the basket in the post against smaller defenders.

Bottom line, this freshman class is waaaaay better than reputed. I don't know about you but I was down in the dumps about this group initially. Instead of one of the worst ever, they may turn out to be one of the best.
