Under the agreement, if remodel funding comes through from either the Legislature or the King County Council, the Washington Huskies would play the 2010 season at Qwest Field while Husky Stadium gets rebuilt.

Seattle Times: Huskies may play at Qwest Field in 2010

There is also quite a row on whether the Legislature should hand over their tax revenue spending authority (in this instance) to King County, and then the obligatory whining from the Wazzu Cougar fans.

I'm glad the New Brickhouse got through when it did.

I think this project has been in the planning stage since about 2000. It keeps getting pushed back. This is one project I'll believe will get done when the shovel hits the ground.

Going 0-12 can't help your chances of getting public funding. Out of sight (of fair weather fans), out of mind.

That stadium site is beautiful. I once went kayaking from the Puget Sound to Lake Washington and the stadium is located adjacent to the channel connecting the two. It seems like there could be a beautiful view of the sound from the north or east side of the stands.

If I understand the situation correctly, WSU is funding a renovation without state help. That's where the whining comes in.

Cosign on Husky Stadium. An awesome place to watch a game. I went there last fall to watch OU play UW and although the game wasn't competitive, the stadium was without peer in terms of location. From my seat on the north end of the stadium, I could see part of the Seattle skyline, Mount Rainier, and Lake Washington, with boats tailgating. 75 degrees on a late afternoon in September made this a perfect outdoor afternoon.
