Hey, a few more bounces go our way and maybe we eek out an unexpected close win against a really good OSU team. Didn't happen unfortunately. That said, controlling our own destiny as far as winning the West is concerned is a wonderful change of pace for our Gopher gridders this late in November. To me controlling your own destiny this late in the season indicates that things are IN FACT changing. Whether some of you want to believe it or not, I truly believe the culture is changing and so much for the better.

I really do feel there is now becoming an absolute expectation among the players and reinforced by the coaching staff that winning is what is always expected every game, regardless of opponent, whether we are favored by Vegas or not. Of course we'll get some and we won't. That is an attitude that has been missing for a while. That this is a position (controlling our own destiny) that WE BELIEVE we should be in this late in the year, and that in some ways WE EXPECT to be in going forward in future seasons. I truly believe this is the type of thing (being in the thick of the West race until the end of the season) we are going to see more and more in coming seasons on a much more frequent and consistent basis. Btw, certainly won't hurt when our East crossovers are not Ohio State and Michigan each year. Although I may be giving Michigan too much credit perhaps?! Ha! ;)

I personally think our last two games (regardless of whether they were going to be on the road, at home or neutral site) will be hard fought, and likely close contests. The confidences is there for me that our coaching staff, trainers and all other support staff will get our boys ready for the end of November stretch.

Our boys, our staff, and I hope most of our true fans who actually follow the team throughout the entire season, believe they can play toe to toe with Nebraska and Wisconsin. That is another sign that I think the culture is changing so much for the better and for the long term.

However this season ends up, I trust this staff and I fully support our players this year and going forward.

Always Maroon and Gold proud!

Go Gophers! Ski-U-Mah!
