General consensus is that Walker is not in good enough shape to play more than short spurts. Yet last night Nebraska played- and he played reasonably well- the fattest big ten basketball player I have ever seen.

It worries me that Walker can't get minutes on this team.

PS That big Brazilian completely frustrated Trevor. Mbakwe just couldn't get around him to rebound. Look for big minutes for him if they play Gophers in Big Ten tournament.

I thought he played decently at Williams Arena, too. He made a jump shot IIRC.

That dude was pretty fat. Made Mo Walker look like Manute Bol. Fun to watch him, gives us all hope I guess...:D

That frustrated me so much. Whoever he was guarding should have drove past him every time. Trevor doesn't handle like Kyrie Irving or anything, but should have been able to (and did a few times) get past him no problem. Instead he kept trying to muscle him and post up or EE would try and muscle him and post up.

Between Mo's knee problems two years ago...and then blowing out his ankle last year...he did fall behind in some areas, including his conditioning. He should be fine, beginning next season...he's got some 'game'

Will Shaka get him to take off the needed 30 pounds? :) I agree- I think there is a good player in there.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Mo Walker has ALOT of work to do. You don't just go from the conditioning level he's at right now(which is pretty much horrible) to being in decent shape next year to be a starter. What gives you any indication of this happening? I just don't see him as anything more than a 8-10 min sub off the bench to give EE a blow. I know he had the injury and all but he's been disappointing in my eyes.

He needs to drop about 40 lbs and develop some explosion in his legs. Then he needs to play a lot to polish his game as he makes too many TOs. He could play meaningful mints next year but it also depends how good Buggs and Foster are.

He'll probably transfer to Wahsington and average 14 and 8 after he sits a year with the Gophs luck...

Safe to say Walker's another enigma on a team of enigmas. The spooky part to me is his seeming loss of skill I could have sworn I saw him exhibit two years ago. Rust is one thing, but he doesn't even look like the same person. You think he could have at least been practicing free throws and set shots - two things he did well prior to his injury. It adds fuel to the fire of whether or not these kids are getting good fundamental and position coaching, particularly the big men.

Just flat out poor coaching. TM should have been running a high pick and roll with Dre every single time to expose his lack of quickness. Trevor can easily hit that shot, or could have rolled to the basket if the big dud helped hedge Dre. This is exactly what other coaches do to Big Mo.
