Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin are all locks for the NCAA tournament, and Iowa was ranked in the Top 25 much of the season, but the Big Ten was a great conference from top to bottom. There was never an easy game in league play. Think about the strides Northwestern made. Look how much Minnesota improved under Richard Pitino. Nebraska was one of the great stories of the season, as Tim Miles did an outstanding job.

Can't say I agree with that. But, hey. Good press.

Not sure which he means...,but

A) Improved from Tubby to Pitino: not really. about the same competitiveness.

B) Improved from Pitino's start to Pitino's finish: not really.

Maybe improved isn't the right word but I think they're at about the highest reasonable expectations anyone had before the year started.

That must have been what he meant. The loss of Mbakwe and Williams, despite his foibles, was supposed to hit us hard. We've done pretty good this year without putting a true 4 on the court.
