I know Bjorklund is also on an OV this weekend. With RHJ now de-committed I'm guessing we will take one more OL. I'm hoping its Bjorklund, but heres some vid of the the other OL visiting this weekend. Thoughts??

I'd, personally, rather see us offer Bjorklud than this kid. It would be absolutely ideal if we could talk Bjorklund into a gray shirt and give this kid a scholarship (or vice versa).

Bjorkland's got way better feet than this kid. I like the violence of Glasglow's punch and relative pass blocking, but Bjorkland is like a supersize TE with alot more potential IMO, plus he's local.
I'm betting Bjorkland and Glasglow are brought in after the visit to meet coach kill, Bjorkland first, is offered and if he doesn't accept, Glasglow gets it, if he does, Glasglow gets a preferred walkon, remember both his parents are doctors, the offer for him isn't as much about the money, but the prestige that comes with a BCS offer.

Personally, I don't think this kid looks that great on film. As Ole says, his feet are terrible. I'm in the minority here, but I'm not all that impressed with Bjorklund either, but I'm also no expert (look at his film and compare it to Tommy Olson's - there is no comparison).

I don't think Bjorklund looks nearly as good as Tommy Olson either. I wouldn't be opposed to Bjorklund being part of this class but I wouldn't be heartbroken if he wasn't. However, I don't think it's ever a bad idea to add a kid who has good size and can move like him. He does have a lot of work to do on his strength before he plays a lot in the Big 10.

I can understand the staffs thinking, Bjorklund needs to develop size, Glasgow needs to develop technique. I think with Bjorklund, they want him to take a grayshirt to develop size, and then still have 5 yrs to play 4. With Glasgow they think they can coach him up with a redshirt year. I'm not saying they're right but Bjorklund does seem to have the body type that will take a couple years to fill out.

Tommy is one of the top lineman in the country, is it really fair to even compare him to Bjorklund?

Over at GI they're saying Mr. Glasgow will be asked to become a "Preferred Walk On." Parents were team doctors over at Northern Illinois when Coach Kill was there. Parents were Penn State grads so the Nittnany Lions may get a look as well as other top academic shools.

This kids feet leave a lot to be desired. It looks like his signature move is to grab ahold and body slam his opponent, otherwise he lumbers around. He's not going to be able to get ahold of the quick ones and it will be game over. He's a bouncer - strong as hell, but...

Are we sure this kid is not being brought in as a DT prospect?. His best skills seem to be his upper body strength. He is throwing people aropund out there, but i don't see much drive blocking or ability to move laterally as a pass blocker.

I get what you're saying, but there are folks on this board who feel giving Bjorklund a scholarship should be a no-brainer, and a scholarship is a scholarship - if he is offered one, then in that sense, he is presumed equal to Tommy Olson, thus the comparison can be made.

If Bjorklund wants to gray shirt, or if offered a preferred walk-on spot, I'm fine with that, but I think a scholarship at this point could be better served (either this year or next).

But again, I'm no expert.

Pork him up and put him at DT with that upper body strength and ability to use his hands.

Tommy to me reminds me of Ben Sobieski, another great lineman from Mahtomedi who ended up playing in the NFL. He is unbelievably strong and very fleet on foot. I do not recall seeing a lineman who can run like him and demolish like him except for probably Seantrell. Being as our biggest rivalry is with Hill-Murray, it was quite a pleasant experience watching him absolutely annihilate their 6'9 330 pound lineman for the last two years. In the last game against Hill, he put him on his back 6 or 7 plays in a row. I just stopped watching after that but man that put a smile on my face. Hill kid kept getting up and coming right back at him though.
