Duke fell to Syracuse, 64-62, for its third consecutive loss. The last two have come at home. Things aren’t looking great for the defending champions but at least they have coach Mike Krzyzewski’s leadership to lean on down the stretch. The all-time Division I wins leader is universally loved and immune to controversy even in 2016.

Well, that’s entirely true. Some things he does rankle the anti-Duke crowd.

For instance, that faction won’t much appreciate Coach K skipping most of the postgame handshake line after tonight’s defeat.

Go Gophers!!

After seeing that Duke had lost three straight, I am wondering when Pete Gaudet will be brought back to finish up this season.

#backissues

coach k consistently proves how classless he is when the going gets tough

NO Coach K, you're amazing

He sped through it because he wanted to get to the officials before they left the court. I don't think he succeeded, so she had a few words for the ACC supervisor of officials after the game. Here's the press conference. I find "amazing" irony in Coach K's postgame antics.

I wouldn't shake the hand of a man

who wears a man bun either. Lord only knows what that guy has on his hands.

Ah yes, the man of much class K......

Dukie V was complaining during the telecast regarding the lack of fouls called on Cuse. You could tell he was in pain watching K and Duke lose again.

Mike can't catch a break

What bothers me is that Coach K is always put up on this pedestal for how successful he is but also for how "classy" he is. He's a great coach, there is no denying that. But his not any more or less classy than most other coaches no matter what talking heads like Dukie V constantly shove down our throats.

Karma for complaining about Kentucky taking mostly 1 and dones, then doing it himself and getting a championship. Now he's struggling a bit with last years leftovers and a new crop of 1 and dones.

It just shows how different every recruiting class can be. There are definitely some good freshman this year, but nowhere near as good as last year. Kentucky is going through the same thing and I love it.

Here is a clip of Coach K "speaking to" an ACC administrator after the game. That is probably why he skipped the handshakes.

And here is an article saying he cursed at a Virginia fan after an orderly court storming a few years ago.

Great coach, no question, but far & away the biggest prick and phony in college basketball. He's a wonderful sport when he wins. Not so much when he loses.

Give me Self, Izzo, Beilein, Huggins (I like Huggy, he is what he is, not a phony like K), Wright, Miller, Painter, Kruger, etc., all guys I find easy to like.

I was at a tournament game about 10 years ago when I live in North Carolina and a friend of mine got us very good tickets that ended up being near the Duke bench. I was shocked at the words that came out of his mouth. I know I wasn't in church or anything but dang it was so bad that I would think about moving if I had kids with me at the game. I'm usually sitting in the nose bleeds so maybe this is the norm for most coaches, but I wasn't expecting that many f-bombs from him.

...especially for a guy who crosses himself before each game. The swear words themselves aren't as bad as the harshness behind them. I know it's part of the coaching job, but tone it down and class it up a little, Mike.

He's a Bobby Knight acolyte so he learned from the best of the worst.
