Urban Meyer had to leave an on-air interview earlier today because he was feeling too ill to continue. Wonder if he'll feel better by Saturday?

The cold weather will fix him right up.

Cold assed frikking weather kills flu bugs. Our Coaches will be healthier than their Coaches.

Our players will be healthier than their players.

I'd be ill too if I was about to lose my first big ten conference regular season game.

He's feeling the stress just like he did at the end of his Gators run. It's only a matter of time until Urban's exit from Columbus now. :cool02:

Sounds to me like he's ready to leave coaching and spend more time with his family.

or it's winter and people get sick? or we can make light of a coach's medical condition as if that hasn't upset us in the past

Yeah, I am a little surprised that people here would make light of Meyer's previous health issues considering what our coach has had to deal with and how up in arms people have gotten in the past when anyone would make light of it.

Thank you. Great point!

...if you believe they were truly health issues. He loses some credibility there when he trades one high stress situation for another.

He took a form of sabbatical in a sense to get himself right. Seems perfectly legitimate to me. Kill took a little time off as well. Should he be criticized for coming back given that stress has been linked to epileptic seizures?

Sorry, this has taken a wierd turn.

As the OP, I wasn't making fun of Meyer's health issues that led to his leaving Florida or hoping that he has some incurable disease. I just though that if he is absent from the game, or practice or two, due to a cold or the flue, that could have some impact on the game.

Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't take it from your post that you were making light of the situation, for what it's worth. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

I don't know that I want to live in a world where you can't make fun of someone who has a case of the Hershey squirts.

He has flue problems? Call a chimney sweeper.

Why not handle the situation the way Minnesota did with Kill? Scale back things, put him in the booth, and allow his top assistants to run things for a period of time. That would allow him to return when things are under control. I find it peculiar that a big pile of manure came down on Florida's program right after taking his sabbatical. I remain skeptical of Meyers' health as the main reason for leaving and that was what I was getting at. It wasn't meant to make light of his health. I thought there was enough knowledge of what happened that more than one person picked up on this.

I once told somebody that Jerry Kill was a good fit at Minnesota. Did I say something wrong?

I hope he gets all his players sick. The more the better. I must be a bad person.

Nothing lasting, 24 hour flu starting around 2 AM early Saturday morning.
