Just checked out some roster updates on ourlads.com, not sure how accurate they are, but some things of note:
1. I don't see Bucky anywhere on Oregons 3 deep.
2. Cam Wiley listed at starting rb for Akron
3. MJ Anderson listed as a backup for ISU
4. Dunlap listed as backup for Rutgers
5. Cheney and Gordon not listed for USF (looks like an incomplete lineup)
6. Jaq. Burns not listed for SMU
7. Boyd 3rd string for TT
8. Ky Thomas back up for Kansas
9. Emilien Back up for Kansas
10. Henderson back up for Liberty
11. Itayvion Brown not listed for MSU
12. Saad not listed for BG

I'm sure things will change and develop, but thought it was interesting that the much maligned Cam Wiley appears to be position for the most play time at this point. Will also be super interesting to see how Bucky gets used. You would think he would have received some good run here.
 

I'll be curious how Wiley does. He might excel in the MAC because he certainly has B10 level athleticism and will be bigger/stronger/faster than much of his competition, it just seems like he doesn't quite have the vision and runs too upright to play RB in the B10. I always wondered if he would have done well at a different position.

Unfortunately other than Wiley and Thomas there doesn't look like anyone has a clear path to immediate increased playing time.

Of them all, I feel like Dunlap is the one that makes the least sense, in this sense (playing time).

Unless perhaps there was a clash/disagreement or whatever between him and Coach Callahan unbeknownst to us fans, that (at least he felt) was going to lead to him not starting this fall ... it seems like a natural assumption that he would've been a starter here?
 

Thanks for the list. When you put it this way that's a lot of depth lost for this team. I guess the portal giveth and the portal taketh away. I am very excited for some of our additions. Also I think my second favorite team this year will be Illinois State. I love what Zack Annexstad brought as a Minnesota Gopher teammate and representative and I want him to light it up this year. He deserves it. Anybody who ever comes across any Redbird news please post it here. It would be appreciated and I'm kind of lazy.

I'm sure they will fight the good fight, but the conference is pretty much dominated by the Dakota schools.

Going back to 2008, these are the quarterbacks who transferred from prominent D-1 schools to D-2 or lower level D-1 schools and ended up getting drafted, so it can work out well. I'm not predicting NFL fortune for Annexstad, but I hope for his sake he at the very least has a strong cap to his college career.

This will be the third year under coach Bobby Patrino - yes that one, from Arkansas infamy and Louisville prior to that and again after that.

They finished 8-4 last year, with a loss in the first round of the FCS playoff.

They had not finished better than 6-5 over 2006-2019 (the 2020 season was shortened and played in spring 2021 for FCS).


If they do well this year and perhaps next too, they could be on the radar of the CUSA for a move-up.

Looks like Clark had a good spring at Missouri State. Solidified QB2 behind their returning starter, Shelly who was the OPOY for the MVFC and is rated the #1 QB in the FCS for 2022.

NDSU athletes routinely prove themselves at a lower level
 

Meh, I think we all know how reliable depth charts are during the season much less in June.

if EIU can be a QB school feeding the nfl, why not ISU?
