The Gophers will never get placed in a potential "home" game, which would be quite unfair. The women's tourney would do crap like that, and so would football Bowl games, but not the mens tourney.
 

That regional that says we are in should say Greensboro
 

Considering Lunardi picked I believe 65 of the 65 teams in last year and 64 of the 65 in the year before, I'm definitely glad we're in his bracket.

Joe has 3 Minneapolis brackets....one for Greensboro....considering Duke is in our bracket....we probably are projected to Greensboro....

Lunardi giving us a 10-seed puts us SOLIDLY in the field. That means there are likely 6-8 teams still behind us. A LOT of weird stuff would have to happen for us to fall 6-8 places now.

Actually, we've gone up a seed, cause his earlier bracket had Minnesota at a #11 seed.
 

Another Dark Side

of the bubble poppers is that it actually lifts our seed, not lowers it. With weaker teams crashing the field, it might actually lift the Gophers to the dreaded 8-9 road kill.

At this point, I am not complaining. As others are saying, seeing our name any where on the brackets is a great accomplishment, and excellent prep for next year when the team will be much more competitive.
 



Teams that crash the bubble shouldn't have much affect on our seeding. The teams they knock out would have a lower seed than us, and the "crashers" will have a lower seed than us. Net result: we are unaffected seed-wise, but the bubble shrinks and we are closer to the cutting line. Now, if a team that was projected to be an 11 seed from a major conference wins its tournament, then they could push our seed down (as theirs moves up) and push us closer to the bottom of the bubble, but the bubble size remains the same.
