Updated Bowl Projections for Week of November 9

SBNation has us playing Florida in the TaxSlayer Bowl.

EDIT With Maryland ahead of us in the Outback. Their remaining schedule is @Michigan State, Michigan, and Rutgers. They're 6-3 right now. They would tie us at 8-4 if they go 2-1 and we go 1-2 in our last three games. I suppose they probably have a better shot at 2-1 than we do at 1-2 though.

I would enjoy that. I don't know if I'd make the trip to Jacksonville for the TaxSlayer Bowl, but it'd be fun to play an SEC team.

Also worth noting that Jerry Palm only has 1 SEC team in the playoff. Thank goodness.

They have Nebraska ahead of us too in the Holiday. They have us in Tier 2 of the bowl selection with Wisconsin, Nebraska and somehow Maryland making it into tier 1.

Cheer for Michigan against Maryland.

Also hope that OSU and MSU both make it into the selection committee bowls.

I'm not sure which would be better for us in the Bowl Selection, if we beat Ohio State do they drop out of the New Year's six bowl games? That would likely mean that we essentially knock Ohio State down but jump Maryland and stay in the same pecking order spot.

Or does a win against OSU still keep them in the New Year's six? Then it would help us as we'd probably jump Maryland and move up a spot.

Still can't understand why playoff bowls can't stand on their own instead of using up regular bowl games for the process. If they want to use the venue, fine - but why displace the Rose Bowl, etc.?

Of all these choices, I am liking the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl and the potential opponents the best.
