With the Sparty & Illinois losses last night, the Gophers have moved up two spots in the BTT bracket. Wouldn't it be sweet for a change to avoid playing on play-in Thursday?

Aren't we about due to win in West Lafayette? The last win there was Monson's 2005 NCAA squad, which was the only Gopher team in the 13-year history of the BTT that didn't have to suit up on Thursday.

All times CST.

Thursday, March 10 (1st Round)
1:30 p.m. -- #8 Northwestern (3-6) vs. #9 Indiana (2-6)
3:55 p.m. -- #7 Michigan State (4-4) vs. #10 Michigan (2-6)
6:30 p.m. -- #6 Illinois (4-4) vs. #11 Iowa (1-7)

Friday, March 11 (Quarterfinals)
11 a.m. -- #1 Ohio State (8-0) vs. Northwestern/Indiana winner
1:25 p.m. -- #4 GOPHERS (5-3) vs. #5 Penn State (4-4)
5:30 p.m. -- #2 Purdue (6-2) vs. Michigan State/Michigan winner
7:55 p.m. -- #3 Wisconsin (5-2) vs. Illinois/Iowa winner

#2-#7 is going to be a giant charlie foxtrot. Who the heck knows how that will end up.

Touche, though I think the Boilers will end up #2. All things considered, I'm just looking for a top-5 finish by the local squad. Don't want to play Thursday. ... eliminates the possibility of a bad loss just before Selection Sunday.

If the Gophers had a full squad(I know some people don't like to hear it) I think we could very well finish at #2 in BT and a top ten ranking. Finishing second to the #1 team in the nation isn't bad. Outside of OSU the BT is not looking as strong as was first predicted.

Time to move on and play the games.

Go Gophers.

With the short bench, it also is imperative to eliminate that Thursday game to rest the guys.

On a personal level, since I can't get to Indy until early afternoon on Thursday, avoiding that ply in game would be good for me.

How do they break ties for the seeding?

Ask Mike Davis. He is the expert on seeding in the Big Ten.

Seriously, it gets convoluted after head to head. Selection will have it down for you.

Full squad? Can we have Hummel back then?

I never thought we would be playing Penn State when they were a 5 seed where did this come from.
