Madison Square Garden still a possibility, but Katz sounds skeptical the Big East will move the dates of its tournament (same week as Big Ten). Barclay's Center not an option in 2018 because ACC tourney will be there.

Minnesota, Cleveland, Detroit, and Omaha mentioned as other candidates. Maybe overthinking things, but found it interesting Katz said "Minnesota" instead of Minneapolis. Opens up the possibility it could be at the X, meaning Ziggy World might not be the only candidate to host in Minnesota?

Would not want BTT to be in a football stadium. Can't imagine enough demand to make it worthwhile as a venue until regionals of the NCAA. For my money, the United Center on the upper deck is too far away for basketball. I can't imagine what it would be like on the upper deck of a football stadium. Would be cool to host here, though.

Someone sent me something last week saying Indy is on an every other year rotation through 2022. Any verification on that one?

They'll have a couple excellent options in the X and a renewed Target Center. Minneapolis would probably be more fun and exciting for visitors.

I, too, would prefer the smaller arena (Target or X) if it comes to Minny, but will take the BTT in Twin Cities any way we can get it. The BTT is a huge event and would be another feather in the cap for the Minnesota sporting community, though I'm skeptical how well it would be attended by the local populace.

I'm not sure we should read anything into 'Minnesota.' Even when Goodell announced the Super Bowl bid, that's what he said. Since all of our sports teams are named that, most non-Minnesotans just think of it that way. That said, the X would make more sense, IMO. I'm not sure playing the BTT in front of a half-empty US Bank Ziggy Land is a good look.

The X is always booked with college hockey and high school state tourney's in March, might be difficult
