"Under the lights against Minnesota, Huskers look to get back on track - Omaha.com

Nebraska's biggest Big Ten wins have came at home and at night. The Big Ten wins for the Gophers? Nearly all of them on the road. Could be one hell-of-a game.

NU’s only win over Wisconsin since joining the Big Ten? Home night game in 2012. The 21-point comeback win over Ohio State in 2011? Home night game. The signature 10-3 win over Oklahoma in 2009? Home night game. The 2015 upset of previously unbeaten Michigan State last season, when the Huskers overcame a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit with timely stops and a Brandon Reilly emerging-from-out-of-bounds touchdown grab? Home night game.

Nebraska plays another Saturday against Minnesota. The Huskers and Gophers have identical records — 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the Big Ten — but rather different views of the last month. Minnesota has won four straight. NU has lost two, and its offense played ragged ball in both.

So the night atmosphere, with chilly temps and maybe heavy coats, might be just what the Huskers need to get well.

“It’s an electric stadium always — but especially at night,” coach Mike Riley said. “It’s exciting to play here. I’m real fired up about our team’s opportunity to reset and play like we can. I know our fans will help us.”
