Gophers going for four consecutive Big Ten victories for first time since 1973. Within earshot of my wife I ask my six year old son, "What bar should we go to to watch the game next weekend? What kind of brewskis should I drink? How many Shirley Temples you gonna have?" Wife overhears me and says, "Remember we're going to my cousins wedding in Nashville this weekend and there is a BBQ Saturday afternoon".
I play my cards right and get a pass for the afternoon. She'll drop me off and pick me up at the bar of my choosing and take me to the BBQ at 3:00 CST - long as I promise not to get too inebriated. I tell her the game will make that decision for me and it's out of my hands.
Anyone from Nashville have a recommendation on where to go? Am fine being that one guy yelling at the Gopher game on the TV in the corner, but would prefer to have other Gopher fans around to high-five, hug, cry on shoulder, have celebratory/tear catching beers with, etc. There a Gopher bar in Nashville? Ought to be with all the Music City Bowls we've played in.
Note: last time I watched a game while I was supposed to be in a wedding it was the Michigan game 10 years ago. Wasn't a great outcome. My eyeball exploded and I was left with a red eyeball for a few weeks and had to give the best man toast with a red eyeball. Hopefully the wedding-during-Gophers-games demons will be exorcised on Saturday. I can't even imagine going for 5 consecutive Big Ten wins the following weekend at home against Wisconsin. I get a little queazy just thinking about that game.
