Tyson to Minnesota?

Roy Trilliams claims to be 38/38 on his predictions... I don't have the desire to go back in his feed and fact check them all

Cade Tyson
My guess is Tyson will play for somebody...the Gophers could be his best opportunity to get minutes.
This is crazy...350 whatever DI basketball teams....since Chance Stephens committed exactly 20 days ago to the Gophers...only 40 total players in those last 20 days has committed to play somewhere in DI according to 247. That's crazy...does everybody really have full rosters?
There are a ton of guys in the portal without teams...I would think the dominoes start to fall for the Gophers within the next week? We are going to add guys right?

One complicating factor- the House Settlement has not been passed yet. So it may be that the waiting game is about that?

I like Niko's chances at rehabilitating him.

He can point to his track record with Nique Clifford. After shooting 40% from 3PT (51.9% eFG) his first season of starting at Colorado, Clifford dropped to 28.8% 3PT (42.3% efG) his second season of starting. He transferred to CSU and improved to shoot 37.7% 3PT (58.6% and 56.5% eFG).

He was nearly as prolific a 3PT shooter as Bobby Durkin (80/172 his sophomore year compared to Durkin's 91/256). Also shot 85% on free throws in two seasons at Belmont, same as Bobby Durkin.

Cade Tyson 6'7" 200lbs
Bobby Durkin 6'7" 215lbs
BJ Omot 6'8" 175lbs

Love those guys as wing options. Reynolds is driving to the basket. Asuma is distributing. Chansey Willis our floor general doing it all. Vaihola is setting screens and kicking it out. Turner develops into a weapon in the low post. Chance Stephens is raining 3's. I like how the roster is coming together.

Hope the rumors are true and he commits.

I think the GI board said he would be announced this week finally. Think he would be a good pickup. Fill the last spots with freshman/players with potential. Excited for this year!
Low risk, high reward prospect. Already have majority of roster in place so if he doesn't pan out it doesn't kill you but if they can get him back to the guy he was at Belmont could be a really nice boost to the roster.

Hopefully he comes on board.

Nice post! In pictures, Omot appears to be closer to 200lbs now.

If this happens, Cade would be our 3rd transfer from UNC that I can remember...Adam Boone, Dawson Garcia and then Cade. Adam was a nice addition to the program, Dawson was obviously an all-conference addition.

Go Gophers!!

The other thing this really helps is the ability to switch every where on defense.

I like the way our roster is shaking out. Definitely has a lot more balance than last year's. I'm not expecting us to compete for the top spot(.........yet...... lol ) but we're definitely not going to get outcoached and outplayed every game.

Although I would have preferred another big man personally, I think this is about as good of a prospect as we could have hoped for at this point. I'm not one for going out on the limb with predictions but I feel comfortable in saying that this team won't finish tied for last in the league in field goal percentage or dead last in free throw percentage.
