and need to be corrected before we get to the next level

-Our offensive line still doesnt give the passer enough time. When Weber does complete a great pass it has to almost have a luck element to it---not all of the time but far too often. And as I said earlier this week---without time to pass the opponent will stuff our run. Yes we had some good passes today but the protection is not anywhere near where it needs to be. Why? Its mainly the same offensive line--a little better bot not acceptable.
-Why doesnt the offensive coordinator help out the situation a little and have Weber roll out. It seems to always be a straight dropback where he clings to his life--sometimes making the play but often not and scrambling. The rollout can counter a good pass rush.

I think you mean these things need to be corrected before we get to THIS level. Forget the next one for the time being.

Also, re: the rollout. Have you seen Weber pass on the run?

Sometimes, play calling and pass protection go hand in hand. Horton put Weber (and his Oline) in terrible situations by continuing to run the ball on first and second down. The Gophers only passed when they had to, so there was never any element of surprise.

Like I said, please provide a link to that statement. I looked through your recent posts and can't find that statement.

USC has a pretty talented group and we were in some third and longs, but all in all I thought our OLine played OK on the pass. They got a push, but I didn't really get the impression that Weber never had a chance to make things happen. All of our nice passing plays were on long developing type crossing patterns (except the one to McKnight).

I also think it is only fair to note that with a guy like Weber, part of the protection issues are going to be on him. Teams are not overly concerned about him making the right decisions, so they bring a ton of pressure (when teams bring one to three extra players on every passing situation it is almost impossible to give time).

Are you a jerk or something? You are going back to see if I am a liar? I meant earllier this year not earlier this week and you will see my post about Webers protection and how our run will be snuffed quickly in the big ten without it. Look hard. Why you are wasting your time anyway is ridiculous. It was said. Case closed.

The blitz pick-ups were a little rough today about 1/2 the time

Right tackle missed badly on a play where Weber got absolutely smoked by his man that he whiffed on. Another blitz situation and Weber get's just blasted after Eskeridge 23, I think the tailback fails to take the man up the middle and at least chip him or get in front of him. Pass protection was not terrible, but no ideal. So far the time goes pretty fast before, the QB is not getting a lot of time to get rid of the ball. QB could use a little more time to let things develop. Weber actually did really well to escape the one blitz situation where they surrounded him but left the middle open.

And as I said earlier this week---without time to pass the opponent will stuff our run.

I'm not trying to be a jackhole, but it appears that you are stating the you asserted an argument "earlier this week" that I can't find. It sounds like revisionist history to me. As I have repeatedly asked, please provide a link where you asserted you comment (previously quoted).

I dont even know

how to provide a link but look very very carefully at my comments after the middle tennesse state game. Obviously you dont believe me for some stupid reason and you have nothing else to do. This is so ridiculous. I dont lie. Its there . If you have to have it look for it yourself. Its there. Trust me. Its there. Look harder if you think i am a liar. Isnt this all silly? You should feel ridiculous when you find it. I am not going to go back and waste my time and wouldnt know how to provide a link anyway. I am not a computer expert. Waiting for your apology when you find it. You must be having a very slow saturday.

I care about a$$holes who post here, in the light of a new day, asserting that they had all the answers. I care.

The blocking wasn't perfect today, but it is not going to be against a team that has you out gunned. They played pretty well. They executed the gameplan and they had a shot in the 2nd half. Some of the blitz pickups they missed were because they were sending 7 and we only had 6 blockers.

Weber had positive rushing yards today (including sacks). It wasn't as bad as people like to think.

Offensively it seems like we're a little bit better at everything. I'm still waiting for something we can count on, but I guess I'll take improvement for now.

Dude, Doc has been around a lot longer than you. But hey, if it wasn't posted on the internet, it can't be true, right?

If you're all that hell fired up about it, get off your A$$ and click on his user name. You can find a link to his posts, then you can find it and make yourself content that he did in fact say what he says he said.

The internet is a very easy tool to use. It's almost completely searchable at this point. If you need proof it's very easy to find it. If anything, Doc's problem is he gives you too much credit to be able to use the basic tools on the internet.

Everyone has "one" unregistered and you post here too. So whats the big deal?

But just for the record, you are picking on the wrong a$$hole. Knowing Doc, he has answers to questions you couldn't even think of.

I think this is what you are looking for. http://www.forums.gopherhole.com/boards/showpost.php?p=253103&postcount=1

Why is the link a big deal? To me, it shouldn't matter whether he posted it or thought he posted it. His statement about the running game either has merit or it doesn't.

apologize. And thanks Caligopher and Calgopher--and of course Bayfield Gopher for your support. Not good to be called a liar.

Here you are

Thanks for finding that link. I honestly looked, and never saw that. I would have never even responded in the first place had I come across that.

I apologize. My nerves get a little close to the surface sometimes regarding this team.

There are many people on this board (and I'm not saying in any way that you are one of them) that post garbage all the time, and play the "I told you so" game. They never told anyone anything, or posted anything, but would like to appear clever by altering their arguments.
