Back down to the misery that is Gopher BB. No Bueno.

We simply can't compete consistently with our team of mid-major rejects.

WTF!! Horrible take. MSU is top 4 team in the nation.
They are good, but not top 4. We made them look top 4 with our dribble offense which made us easy to guard. But, MSU's poor 3 point shooting will be their downfall in March. They won't make the Final Four unless their shooting improves.
The Gophers are simply a bottom level team in the Big10.

I know they are a good team, but we already played them once. Should not have lost by 20 a second time. Adjustments. Coaching.

You’re expecting Ben Johnson and his staff to put together a better game plan than Tom Izzo and his staff.

Izzo loves Johnson. Just helps him pile up wins.

They beat us by 18 at our place so not shocking that the result was worse at their place. They are a legit top 10 team, we are a lower tier Big Ten team.

Frustrating that we were not able to overcome the horrible start or chip into the lead more then we did in the second half but the end result last night was not shocking when going against a team we don't matchup well against in one of the toughest places to play in the Big Ten.

10 games left with multiple winnable ones if we play well. Hopefully we get enough of them to at least qualify for the Big Ten Tournament in what is almost certainly Johnson's final year.

It is impressive to watch Izzo always coaching his players during timeouts, media stops, while subbing, etc. Yes sometimes it is getting in ones ear, but it also goes to show how engaged and in control he has over his teams and how he wants his teams to play. And being since MSU hasn't missed an NCAA tourney since 1996 except the postseason cancel year, that is really impressive.

Cheesesteak, nobody in their right mind, granted I spend most most of my time in my left mind, thought we had more than a chance for a W last night; not even my bro Bobby D. In sports once in a while, the improbable happens🤷‍♂️ and most of the time it doesn’t Timmy😅

I’m much more interested in how we finish the next ten games, as we still have a chance for a .500 or better record in the conference. The aforementioned record has happened 4 times since the 2000 season a twice right at .500 and twice over.

While it’s not probable, I’ll still be cheering the team on regarding and enjoying whatever victories are accumulated along the way, while I enjoying a NYC slice.

I was gonna root for the Eagles 🦅, but maybe it would be more fun for Mahomes, Kelce and company to three peat on you Bslboas🥸

It's no less impressive, but the Spartan NCAA Tourney run did not start until 1998, which was Izzo's 3rd season as HC. They made the NIT in both of his first 2 seasons.

One of the most impressive items on his resume to me is that he's only been sub-.500 in the Big 10 once, '20-'21 in which they were 9-11.

Lol...first, not from Philly, hate Philly sports team almost as much as NYC dbags and their teams.

Second, lol, .500 in conference...r u fucking kidding? This team wins no more than 3 more games and will on the bubble to make our own conference tourny.

The first half was a demonstration of just how bad a bad team can play.

Izzo's sustained run of success is really impressive. The last handful of years (including the 20-21 season you referenced) have been down by their standards but even those "down" seasons have resulted in solid Big Ten records and a trip to the NCAA tournament.

Lol...first, not from Philly,
So, you live there Big Whoop🤷‍♂️
hate Philly sports team
Sure you never watch them or go to any games with Rosalinda 🤓
almost as much as NYC dbags and their teams.

I typed this -

THEN this in the subsequent paragraph (the bolding links them Rocky🤠) -

Oh well?? The world didn’t end, did it??

If it causes you such a boo boo, maybe you should watch Paw 🐾 Patrol instead🥸???

This will be interesting. Win those? You may be on to something. Lose them both? Fire the bus driver.
Agreed.

The good thing is, if they were gonna throw in the towel, probably would have done it at 0-6. Playing a ranked Michigan team.

So, there’s still a chance and that equals hope, always a good thing.

Agreed. I respect the fight they've showed. I just think after 4 years of finishing at or near the bottom, things would need to change. And if they lose the next 2, a bottom 3 (or 4 or 5, which doesnt really inspire hope) finish seems fairly likely. Sucks when they seem like good kids, I'm sure they work hard, etc. to have those results. But sometimes teams just suck

I think if we beat Sconnie at home that would be great - both in the same season!

I’m hoping we make the cut line and then some.

No, definitely not. But he also spoke highly of Pitino. Izzo is a fuck, but he isnt dumb. Wouldn't you want your shitty competition to stay shitty?
I don't think he cares about Minnesota because they aren't in the same stratosphere. I don't think its that deep, hes simply supporting coaching colleagues.

Gopher's b10 record > 500:
since 1990: 8 of 34 years - 24%;
since 2000 - 3 of 24 - 12%
2016 - 11-7
2004 - 10-6
2001 - 9-7
1997 - 16-2
1996 - 10-8
1995 - 10-8
1994 - 10-8
1990 - 11-7

I don't think it's so bold based on the evidence so far but we'll see. No team in the country has won more than 18 games to date. Three power conference teams, including Michigan State, have 18-2 records. Auburn is 18-1.
Look at who they have played.

The have essentially played the bottom half of the big10 aside from Illinois who they got at home and with injury issues winning by two

Lost to by far the two best non con teams they played

Team gets credit for no slip ups and almost always winning in dominating fashion

But top 4 in the country?? Gotta prove more against fellow top teams.

Izzo is actually a good coach.

But coaching had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the outcome of the this game.

It doesn't take much to impress you guys.

Win and the coach is a genius. Lose and he's an idiot.
