Tubby Smith - Shots from the heart

Can he shoot in a suit for the majority of the players on our team please?

I guess we know who coached Trevor up. He's still rough but 100% better then the beginning of the season. Work on Chip next, Tubby.

Sweet Mother of Mercy

Sweet Mother of Mercy, Tubby looks great!

Does he have eligibilty left?

:clap::clap::clap:

Consistent form, nice rotation, good follow through, excellent bend to the knees. The guy knows what he is doing from the line.

Wasn't it a few years ago, during the Tollackson regime, that Tubby basically changed everyone on the team's free throw style to eliminate any dribbles? Their percentage went up markedly. Do it again, Tubby!

The no dribble mandate didn't really hurt or help

Tubby bump

After watching last nights performance from the line I feel compelled to give this threqd and clip a bump.

If you want to see one heck of a Gopher free throw shooter watch this clip.

:)

I didn't see the game; only listened to the last six minustes or so. Major foul discrepancy between the teams and even our local guys were calling it "one sided" in our favor.

For those who saw the game, was it your take that Cornell played hack a Shaq with the Gophers and just dared them to make free throws? Right now, it looks like a good strategy for less talented teams to just hack and gun threes and see what happens. If it works, you give one point and take three.

Holy Man

No I don't think Cornell was playing any kind of Hack a Shaq. The nature of Trevor's game is such that he just forces contact. He ended up shooting 20 free throws and of course he's our worst shooter.

In the case of Cornell I doubt it was their plan as they really did not seem to have an abundance of big post players or depth to spare. Someone with numerous bigs and a quality bench could surely employ that stratagy however.
