He and his wife may be forced to spend another year in MN....:)

Well that's an uninspiring hire by Wake Forest.

Running out of places to coach next year?! What a stupid comment. He's going to be the coach at Minnesota next year.

If Bzdelik doesn't work out at WF I would think the AD would need to find a new job.

It's difficult to read sarcasm. You didn't include the [sarcasm] [/sarcasm] tags. That would have helped. :) Sorry.

haha no worries...I've been guilty before too...Just mocking the media that makes Tubby a candidate for (just about) every single job opening. I'm still glad Sienna didn't get him!;)

I don't know that I love the Wake hire, but I'm not sure that it is horrible either.

I say that because he was able to have success at Air Force despite having strict entrance requirements and not being as athletic as other teams in the conference. If Wake is going to win, I think they have to do in some ways what they've done in football. Jim Grobe runs the option and is difficult to prepare for. Bdzelik will have the Deacs playing differently than most in the ACC and they will be difficult to prepare for. I think they could be as effective as NC State was under Sendek.

I could be way off, but I'm not sure it's awful.

I also heard that the only thing he loves more than family is the continental divide.

I heard from a little birdy that Tubby loves Dale's Pale Ale and the Tenfidy. That might be enough to compel him to accept that job

I ain't believing none of that Tubby to Colorado stuff until Doogie tells me it's going to happen.

You know, even if we're joking about most of these rumors, it still doesn't help recruiting to try to be funny about it. If recruits read these boards, and I have a pretty good feeling they do, then we should try to limit any discussion about coaches leaving. That's just my two cents for a Monday morning. It's a very important week for the future of the Minnesota men's basketball program, and I'm hoping Tubby draws a Royal Flush.

Or it could help recruiting because it solidifies in the recruit's mind that we have an in-demand coach. And then when Tubby looks them in the eyes and says he's not going anywhere, it seals the deal.

There a many other teams that have in-demand coaches that seem to do just fine with winning and recruiting. Minnesotans have a tendency to think the worst will happen (I am from Minnesota too).

Plus it's not like recruits won't be able to tell that these threads are drenched in sarcasm.

I think you make a good point that we should remember that anyone can be reading these posts. I was thinking the sarcasm was pretty inherit in the title of this thread, but I apologize for those who think it's in bad taste. It was supposed to be something like funny.

With regard to your concern about recruits reading this-
Take a moment today and pen a version of your note above and send it to any Twin Cities sports media personality. They were the targets of my sarcasm. Their TMZ-inspired work on Tubby's intentions left behind things like journalistic ethics and proper sourcing long ago. They are raising far more dust than any joe-bloe on a message board. A little humility and affection for the home-town-teams would go a long way.
That said, part of having a coach with national prominence is having to deal with the rumor mill. I'm sure MSU fans didn't appreciate Izzo's name getting thrown around as he prepped his team for the final four.
Recruits may be reading this. If they are, I would think them savvy enough get the joke and, also, they (unlike me) can call Vince or Saul or Tubby and get the truth.
