University of Minnesota basketball player Trevor Mbakwe will plead guilty this morning in Ramsey County District Court to violating a harassment restraining order, his attorney said.

The misdemeanor charge involves a posting that Mbakwe made on a former girlfrind's Facebook account.

Mbakwe also will be sentenced this morning.

Marcus Fuller tweets:

Mbakwe was sentenced to the one day he has served in jail, one year probation and ordered to pay a $300 fine.

That pre-trial program is now definitely voided because Mbakwe pleaded guilty in MN case although the harassment was just a misdemeanor.

I've been told Mbakwe would not face jail time even if he loses the Miami case because he had already been put in pre-trial program.

Talked to Miami-Dade state's attorney office spokesperson and she said her people won't speculate on what Mbakwe's plea means right now.

- Pre-trial program was a done deal upon arrest, confirmed with court in early February.

- He could face jail time, although it's not likely. Just because you failed a pre-trial program does not mean the court is unable to order you to serve jail time.

- Not much, they were already bringing it.
