Transfer Portal Is A Dead End For Many

An example of a player transferring and dropping down a few levels is former Gopher QB Jaran Roste
He enrolled in Bethel and as a senior was selected as the MIAC Offensive Player of the Year. He is also one of four finalists for the 2022 Gagliardi Trophy that goes annually to the most outstanding football player in Division III. The winner will be announced Friday, Dec. 16.
To clarify, he wasn’t a scholarship player when he enrolled, but a PWO.

Cool article on how Bethel was a great fit for him and helped change his life, he’s now getting a masters in special Ed teaching, with the genesis being a program they had there

How many college football teams use pressure for less desirable players on their rosters to enter the Transfer Portal?

High school recruits have a lot more competition for scholarship spots. Teams benefit by filling up their thin roster spots quickly with seasoned players.

I noticed today that no MIAC or WIAC teams were in the quarter-finals today.
I also read that Bethel's student population has decreased to the point that they are dropping some programs.
