...weren't we all going to be happy with a 1-1 record in the road games at Iowa and Neb? I have the utmost confidence this team will defeat the Huskers. That would put them in position to only need one win against the big boys at home instead of 2 or 3. Believe me, this season is not over. But if there has ever been a must win regular season game, its the Nebraska showdown. MINNESOTA HAS TO WIN THAT GAME TO HAVE ANY CHANCE.

Somebody hack you're computer or somthing? Wow that sounded sensible. I will have to agree. I still think we can get to 20 wins after this loss. Unless of course they keep playing like they did last night.

Most expected us to win both games.

Agreed. The Gophers (with their current combination of talent/youth/experience) are in no position to be able to take any opponents for granted. Unfortunately, with their youth, it looks like they still need a slap in the face here and there to remind them.

The loss wasn't the end of the world. But, as they rack up, it just means we have to win games we shouldn't. Ohio St, Mich St, and so on. Who would have ever thought we would have beat Indiana at Indiana after the roll they were on?

It can be done.

many of the posters on this board should take note of this. many counted both Iowa games, the games with Nebraska and Northwestern as automatic wins

Chance for what? To get within shouting distance of a .500 conference record?

Pretty funny Central. Hard to laugh after last night.

Jeez, you would think they would have been ready. I just don't get it. Rodney with a total of 10 boards in the last 4 games (one last night). Welch was a turnover machine in the first half. Joe....was he ill? 11 steals for Iowa to the Gophers 1. Athleticism is so over rated sometimes. If you're not prepared to play and you play dumb on top of of it....Aw man, they sure don't do things easy. I want to vent more, but I'll shut up.

It was an ugly loss. But are any of Iowa's wins ever pretty?

Finishing ahead of Iowa will be difficult for Gophers

We're both 4-6, and look at the rest of the Hawkeyes' schedule. They still have Penn State twice, Northwestern twice, @ Nebraska, Indiana & Wisconsin in Iowa City, with only @ Illinois as a game I'd fully expect them to lose. Quite a bit more manageable than what the Gophers face.

Not to mention head to head (for BTT seeding purposes).:(

I think most people expected us to be favorites in all those games. That still hasn't changed. These are games a "tournament team" should win.

at this point I don't think Minnesota has done anything to be called a "tournamnet team"

What's the point of keeping it close if you're going to get out-scored 9-0 down the stretch anyway?

Iowa is a ratty team. They just gave up 100+ points and had looked absolutely terrible recently. I didn't watch the whole Gopher game mainly because I have high blood pressure. I do not see them (iowa) finishing strong.

Gopher fans have come to expect the worst. Sunday I could see nebraska coming out smoking jumping to a 11 to 3 lead with a couple of threes and a dunk put back. We are behind the whole game by 5 to 8 points and never catch up and lose 67 to 59. I hope I am wrong but I have seen this way too often.

Haha. I hear exactly what you're saying. It is very difficult to finish a full Gopher game with all the inconsistencies and purely idiotic plays the plague this team. My passion for the team also effects my blood pressure. Haha.
