Some statistical notes since Friday:

-Yikes...well, we have our answer to whether folks would be willing to select single seats, and the answer was a resounding NO. Only 10 seats came off the board today. Now, a few more were selected, but as some people mentioned earlier in the day, there were a few seats that were re-released to the public, causing a few sections to actually GAIN seats from yesterday. In the end, though, anyone hoping for the single seats to just disappear were wrong, at least for today.

-As you can see above, the premium seating has all but come to a halt. Only two seats were actually selected out of the premium seating today (both from the $500 sections), but a seat in section 239 re-appeared, causing a net loss of only one seat from last night to tonight. Someone didn't pay their bill...tsk, tsk.

-The number of seats selected today has dropped pretty dramatically as the days have gone on. Here are the number of seats selected in the last few days:

-Wednesday: 504
-Thursday: 464
-Friday: 321
-Monday: 170
-Tuesday: 10

-This was a tremendous drop from any other day. As I mentioned before, this is most likely due to the single-seat theory; however, there could be a few other things at play here:

1) Folks talked to the ticket office, and were told that these single seats are going to be combined in the near future and were told to wait if they wanted seats together

2) The waiting list came to and end more quickly than any of us thought

-Either of these theory's could be cleared up by someone either still on the waiting list, or someone that selected today. All I know is that those seats still exist, and they're still up for grabs tonight.

-This begs the question: How willing would YOU be to select a single seat, not knowing who you'd be sitting by during the game, even in a new stadium? Having done it in the past, I would, and I would assume most of the GH collective would as well, but it's a question that begs an answer, nonetheless. Or, a more pointed question: What's more important to you, going to Gopher football, or sitting with your friends??

-The next update will occur around Midnight tomorrow night...hopefully with better numbers!

That is incredible! Is it too late to get on the list? Man I have no doubt I'd sit alone if need be, rather than be shut out of the new stadium

Call me Schnauzer, because I'm really interested in investing in the single that's on the end of our group's tickets. I assumed someone on the waiting list would snatch it up, but apparently not.

I'm not sure where that came from (I haven't read all threads extensively) but I do know that I talked to the Ticket Office/Gopher Points yesterday and they said there would not be any movement of the singles. Since the singles are pretty much all in different rows, it wouldn't work to try to move people with groups of all different sizes in every row. They'd never get next to each other without completely splitting some groups up, and back to back would still be extremely difficult with all those group sizes varying.

There is still some of the waiting list to contact as well. They said they were not finished, but had only done the first 1,500 or so for selection times and will be contacting the rest of the list since there are still some singles and obstructed view left to offer. Not sure how quickly that'll be done though.

This is a new development then, as I've heard time and time again that they reserve the right to move you slightly (one seat over one way or the other, or one row one way or the other) to create fewer single seats...

I'm sure they still reserve the right but it sounds like they don't really see a need to exercise it (i.e. the cost of upsetting larger groups outweighs the benefit of making these 200+ seats easier to sell).

244 x $275 season ticket = $67,100 annual revenue not counting parking + concessions + souveniers.

I imagine if the U went the route of contacting groups who have seats directly adjacent to the open singles, they'd find many of them being purchased (certainly more than 10 in a single day). Above I mentioned how our group would take the single available next to our seats in 231. Schnauzer obviously wants the single by his group. Considering there are likely two, three or even four groups with seats directly next to (either alongside, above, below) these empty singles, there is a decent chance at least one of those groups has a friend (or friends, or family) interested in tickets that are currently without.

I'm not saying there isn't revenue to be had, I'm just saying it looks like the U is confident they can sell these w/o upsetting existing season ticket holders.

I've heard move one seat over but not one row. You can't move between rows unless they are already singles and, at that point why stop at one row. There were two seats in the same row yesterday in one section and they disappeared. My guess it that if you see two seats in a row, you can call the ticket office and get them to move them together.

That's true, but like I said it's different when it's in all different rows. Two seats in one row may be easy, but if you look at the stadium that seems pretty few and far between. Part of that is probably due to the system design to not allow you to leave a single; when trying to buy some at one point a message would come up saying I had to move my selection due to a single seat being left. Sounds like it only allowed someone to do that if it was the very last seat in the row being left. I suppose multiples appeared when there were more than one person holding seats in a row, and one may have released their selection before submitting (causing the ability for multiple singles).

I was #1512 on the list, was able to pick today, got 2 tickets in section 235 one row apart from each other and seats 5/7. The girlfriend and I can stand being an extra 4 ft away (assuming we sit there and not the student section, now we are unsure). I think there was a total of just over 1600 on the waitlist, so getting on it now would be a pretty sure bet for being able to snatch up a ticket. I would imagine you could get in the system today for it.

Also, I was surprised to see that 135 spots in the Church St garage were still available. For $15/game parking that close right in campus was well worth it. If i decide to sell some tickets (family members, G'holers) I am sure this would up the sale value as well.

Anyway, that was SUPER exciting and I cannot believe how great the view will be from those seats based on pics I have seen and the virtual seat selection thing.

There is another pair of tix just like that in rows 15 and 16 in that section.

What are the odds of that?

Glad to see the tix getting gobbled up. I wonder how they will sell the visitor tix that people turn back in.

Ha!

Yes, I whined continually about that hanging single at the end of my four tickets in section 133. Ironically (or typically, in terms of my LUCK) it not only vanished just yesterday... but I got an email I could PICK on my wait list entry this afternoon! Barely any singles were taken... but of course the one I was REALLY interested in went! Wound + salt = Schnauzer

But, I did call in and picked up a fifth seat anyway. There was one last single in the section next to mine (section 135). If I had taken that one, it would have been filling the last open seat between 119 and 146. But, I opted for a single in Section 114. My reasoning is that if one of my seats has to be away from my other four, and the person sitting in it will be surrounded by strangers, it might as well be with a seat back. It looked to be the best remaining non-donation seat in the stadium - and actually better than my existing four. Not a bad consolation prize for the person who has to sit alone.

I would have asked the ticket office if they could communicate with the person who took the seat you wanted. Maybe you could have traded seats with this person and/or thrown in a $20 to sweeten the trade if necessary.
