I remembered Antoine Winfield Sr. who was a star at tOSU being miffed about his son not getting an offer. Thank goodness. Because of that MN was able to get him. They didn't think he was tall enough, and there were players rated ahead of him. IIRC, supposedly his ran a 4.4 40.

Now people in Bucknuts are talking about what could have been.

Interesting discussions on the OSU board. The one thing that stuck out to me again was the fact that you could be a back up and not play hardly at all but yet would have been good enough to start with another school. This would lead to more exposure for yourself for the NFL draft and obviously play a major role for that school.

One reason to support transfers otherwise a guy could get stuck and not have a chance to reach the goals that the player had in mind.

The same dynamics come into play with two MN players.

J.C. Hassenauer opted to go to Alabama. I don't recall his name being mentioned that he played until his final year and a half. He did not get drafted. Fortunately, he signed as an UDFA with Atlanta and I believe he did make it to a roster spot that way.

Jashon Cornell was the highly touted recruit out of Cretin Derham Hall. At one point I think he was the number one rated player in his class until someone else eclipsed him in the ranking. Now, they are talking about him be a Day Two guy (2nd, 3rd). He has a better chance of being drafted than Hassenauer did.

However, I often wonder what would have happened had they stayed home.
