per the Topeka Capital Journal:

Sitting at home in Topeka certainly wasn’t what Ky Thomas had planned for this spring.

After finishing off a record-setting high school career last fall, the former Topeka High All-State running back opted to graduate early in order to get a head start on his college career at Minnesota.

It seemed like a fool-proof plan ... right up until the coronavirus hit in mid-March.

“I came home for spring break and never went back to Minnesota because of the virus,″ said Thomas, who ranks No. 2 on Kansas’ all-time career rushing list with 7,703 yards.

A key factor in Thomas’ decision to start college early was so he could participate in spring practice with the Gophers, but he only got a very small taste of what that would be like before programs were shut down across the country.

“We had three practices and only one practice with pads on, so we were just getting started,″ said Thomas, who arrived on Minnesota’s campus in mid-January.

Go Gophers!!

Hopefully he is getting credits in the bank towards graduation and will return shortly ready to roll!
