" Goldy Gopher has again lived up to his name, coming out on top among college mascots at the 2013 UCA/UDA College Cheerleading and Dance National Championship in Orlando. Goldy was first in the competition at Walt Disney World over the weekend, with several other B1G mascots making the top 10. This is the second time in the past three years that the buck-toothed, always smiling Minnesota mascot has claimed the national title. Minnesota also won two other divisions this year in jazz and pom. It is the 4th consecutive year Minnesota has won those divisions.
Summary: I've been to many functions where Goldy has worked the "room". Nobody better.

"Best mascot" is an odd thing to brag about. With that said, it's true that Goldy is the best. I commend the folks who portray Goldy for creating a personality with broad appeal that is so entertaining, even when the on-field product is, at times, quite the opposite.

Hey now.. Goldy's antics was what started getting my Wisconsinite wife to enjoy going to games with me. Goldy was the catalyst in turning my wife into a Gopher fan.

Competitive cheer has a porn division?

[edit] Never mind, it's pom. Ho hum.

Did you know that the Graduation song Pomp and Circumstance was originally titled Porn and Circumcision?

It was a Decree from the Vatican, due to so many priests who committed Porn and Circumcision with little boys.
