does one Mike Stoops not care that he has one game + bowl game?
By all the accounts on the Arizona boards, they think he could leave after this season, Doogie mentioned he has a custody battle on his hands though that could keep him from leaving arizona.
I think it's a better chance than some other names.

He fits our apparent criteria...he is under .500 for his career. He is worse in the conference.
But somehow he would magically take the Gophers to a Big Ten title and a national championship.
Can't we either hire a proven guy, a coach who has won at the college level or pro level or everywhere for his career. Someone with a track record of winning. Or if that somehow isn't possible (but Leach, Bellotti and even Trestman fit that standard) then a wiz kid who hasn't proven mediocrity but has had some success, like a Mullen.

I would prefer Bellotti, Harbaugh, Mullen, or Leach to Stoops.
BUT. Stoops has really developed as a coach and his teams have gotten better every year. The last two years they have legitimately contended for the Pac-Ten title.
