Saturday's game provided a thrilling ending, with the Badgers turning it over deep in their own zone, and Travis Boyd flipping the puck to Seth Ambroz for the game-winner with 26 seconds left. That made the Gophers perfect in their very first Big Ten Conference weekend.
"It will be a very pleasant memory," Lucia said. "You know what, there's only 20 (conference) games and getting off to a good start is so important."
The Gophers and Badgers are among the elite teams in college hockey. The more that people outside of Minnesota and Wisconsin get to know them, the more college hockey will benefit. The Big Ten Conference will help spread the word.
