So the Gophers were able to blot out last week's commotion and get back on track for what eventually could be a tournament run. Now, we'll have to wait and see how they handle next week's commotion. But they did OK with this week's.

Sums it up for me. Powers has predicted a sweet sixteen run, and is one of the few local sportswriters whose banter doesn't strike me as mean-spirited.
 


Loved him calling Mbakwe an "E-Scofflaw" and also this line, "He no doubt spent those first three minutes and 44 seconds reflecting on how not to mess up anymore."

With Reusse basically mailing it in, Powers is the only guy I regularly read. Does take his shots but he isn't mean and he does give credit when it's warranted.

I wonder if that is because he his not under the influence of the ellite, pontificating, demeaning, infalable, evil empire called the CCO/STRIB empire?
